location , breakfast and the staff
the door in the shower was broken
Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great breakfast, nice stay.
I loved the location; just minutes away from the streetcar and made the whole trip a lot smoother! The price was topnotch!
The heater and some appliances and fixtures needed some remodeling.
Extremely helpful owner and staff. Authentic, unique, buildings and room. Close to beautiful Garden District homes and nearby restaurants. A short streetcar ride from the French Quarter and downtown attractions. Great hearty breakfast. Superb value for money.
Sink was loose from the wall - otherwise solid and spotless in an old preserved room.
Good advice about what to do and how to get around. Pleasant breakfast space. Tasty eats. Small kitchenette in room is useful.
Rooms and hallways are a little "tired".
Breakfast, location, cosy
Small tv...but hey, you don't go to NO to watch tv...
flexibility of the staff - they allowed us to store our lugagge until our flight
The facility is not very clean. There was mold in our bathroom and the door knob was broken. The breakfast is only offered from 8:30am - 9:30am which is relatively early when you are on vacation, and a small time frame to be able to make it to breakfast.
Breakfast, cleanliness, location near street car, The Irish House (excellent pub & restaurant nearby), helpful & friendly hostess/very accommodating
Saw 3 rooms: first one tiny with basic double bed, barren atmosphere; 2nd one nicer/larger but paint cracked & pealing in several spots; 3rd room very large, attractive, but touch-up painting needed
I loved the older feel of the place. The fenced in parking available was a huge plus. Staying there was much like having our own lil old place in a small community. The location was great. It was close to where we could hop on the train.
The bathroom was great but the water while taking a shower was horrible. The hot water did not last very long. I ended up taking a nuke warm or cold shower.
Good location, near streetcar. Secure free off street parking. Historic home.
Everything worked but much of it was old. Of course, there is no elevator and you have to take luggage up some steep stairs.
The Staff Was Really Nice Ms.Beatrice Was So Friendly
The Only Thing I Didn't Like Was The Tv Was Small And I Had The Wrong Remote In My Room So I HAd To Get Up And Change It Myself
Location, off street parking, breakfast , owner.
Heater had problems.
Beatriz was very friendly and offered good advice based on our limited time in the city. The house is just over a mile from the French Quarter, and we had pleasant walk to and from. The continental breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
The room (14) was spacious and clean, but could use some renovating. The tv - not necessary for us, but a nice convenience - was very small, and we did not find a remote control. Also, it took almost five minutes to get hothe water in the shower in the morning. We think these are minor complaints, but things to keep in mind.
The building was well maintained and my room was comfortable. The owners have accommodated guest needs without taking away from the vintage feel of the 1841 house. The location was close to trolley and easy to drive from. Appreciated the secure parking and nice courtyard. I would recommend this site to my friends.
Safe good inn keeper helpful easy to get to places 50 yards to streetcars nice part of new orleans
Not much nothing I can't live with see if they have rooms with out climbing stairs I don't like stairs even if it's free
This is the second time we've stayed here in two years. Very nice hotel, great breakfast, very helpful staff, parking + location in the Garden District.
We stayed for two nights and certainly can recommend this place. They offered a great breakfast, from fried eggs to bagels to fruit and cereal. Off street parking was useful as we were traveling with a rental car. Especially breakfast staff (owner and her mother) were very friendly. The place was very quiet.
No really a disadvantage, but you have to take the streetcar to city center (but the streetcar itself is an attraction). On the other hand the Garden District is nearby.
price was good but I guess you get what you pay for! The location was convenient to streetcar and made it easy to get to where we wanted to go.
Our room was small. Bathroom was tiny. The shower you could barely turn around in. Sparse furnishings. Could be cleaner. Needs some capital investment in the property!
Beatrix and Ross were so welcoming and really made us feel at home. The hotel was conveniently located and easily accessible
Very Clean, close to street cars (public transportation), close to great restaurants, quiet neighborhood, friendly staff
room was not decorated to the period of the house, and breakfast did reflect New Orleans flavors
Evertyhing was perfect, close to the gorgeous Garden District, just 2 minutes by walk to street car. Breakfast is so tasty and delicious, and the owners give you a lovely chat every morning:) If we could come back, we will stay there.
Nice room Good food and off road parking
Staff was great! Called to check on us (got a late start) & helped us find it. Breakfast was great! Good chicory coffee! Caught the street car 1 block over on St. Charles, several restaurants there also! Free parking was nice. We are history buffs so we enjoyed the architecture of the house & staying in a piece of history! Planned a return trip with the kids while we were there! Can't wait!
The bed pillows could have been a little bit fluffier but that is just a personal choice!
Closeness to transportation, being in Garden District, and not having to pay for parking.
Rooms very old fashioned, no chair, lots of peeling paint in room and halls, stuffiness in room.
