Cape Town is a South African gem. It has the earthiness of the mountains with the tranquillity of the ocean. In a week you can visit the most gorgeous winelands, go out to see the whales in Hermanus or even the white sharks in Gaansbaai... you can also climb the beautiful peaks and watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Table mountain is breathtakingly majestic as it rises above the city's skyline and seemingly engulfs it in its wide embrace creating a oneness between city living and nature. I was expecting everyone staying there to be white tourists (they seem to be everywhere in Cape Town) so it was great to come down to breakfast and see black Africans seated, the women in very colourful dresses. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. They even do a very reasonably priced laundry service. The area was quiet and just two minutes from the famous sea front at Sea Point. I spent two weeks in the hotel and didn't regret it for a minute.
