Dunfallandy House Hotel, hotel in Pitlochry

Located in Pitlochry, 14 miles from Castle Menzies, Dunfallandy House Hotel has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

It was easy to get to and away from the crush of people in busy Pitlochry. There was a very evident personal touch from the staff, who were friendly and made sure we were very comfortable. Breakfast was good (great coffee!) and hot. The house itself was nicely appointed and comfortable - didn’t leave one feeling like you shouldn’t touch anything because it is precious.

Pitlochry was an incredible small town! We were pleasantly surprised by the great shopping selection, walkability to various local hikes, and delicious food (we highly recommend Explore Chocolate and Saorsa 1875).

The restaurants and nightlife were excellent considering the size of Pitlochry. Reasonable range of shops, not too tacky. Found accommodation relatively expensive compared to cities ie Glasgow, Dundee and on a par with Edinburgh.

    Beautiful and friendly.

Beautiful and friendly. The village is lovely with a good choice of bars, cafes and restaurants. There are great walks and excellent opportunities for cycling. There are some interesting shops too and if you're into tweed, I don't think you'll be disappointed. EV charging is supplied by Charge Scotland - get the app and open an account to make it work. There is a selection of fast and rapid chargers on-site at the train/bus station. Overall, you get a lovely calming feeling as you walk around.

I would definitely recommend Pitlochry as a place to stay.

I would definitely recommend Pitlochry as a place to stay. Its at the heart of a fantastic part of the world. Mountains, Hills, Glens, Rivers. A gateway to so much more. The town is a great base. Full of places to eat, and a suprising amount of things to do. Just go.

We first visited Pitlochry in autumn 2019 - it was delightful then - it’s now spring 2024 - just as enjoyable, not a lot has changed. The main shopping precinct is busy with bus tours and particularly with tourists over the weekend - early mornings are best to get a seat in a coffee shop . To beat the crowds, take the suspension bridge across Tummel River to the Port-na-Craig area - the stone cottages and pub by the river bank is a tranquil area to enjoy. Continue along the walking path to the ‘salmon ladder’ and beyond to Faskally Wood or much further to the Killiecrankie Visitors Centre.

We had a brilliant stay - gorgeous hotel, great setting on a hill overlooking the countryside around Pitlochry, and only a quick walk into the centre of town. We got a bonus upgrade from a classic room to a garden room which is in the new building next to the main hotel, and was all beautiful with our own patio doors opening onto a little garden which was lovely to enjoy in the morning. We had a DBB deal and the food, service, lounge area with fireplace to relax in, was all amazing. We'll definitely be back and would highly recommend!!

Our room was recently remodeled, so everything was new. The bathroom was very modern with a large walk in shower (not one of those tiny folding door ones). Every staff member was friendly and welcoming. Parking was included & there were plenty of spaces. The location was just on the edge of town, so it was very quiet but also close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Pitlochry is such a charming place to visit and I would definitely recommend this property.

The hotel was very festive, warm and comfortable. Having an EV charger was a huge benefit for us. A short walk to local facilities - Pitlochry is a great holiday destination for walks, fishing and local culture (decent live music in one bar we visited and the theatre was great). We were surprised at how good the facilities in the room were, given the reasonable price. For instance, the shower was perfect for me as I'm struggling with mobility due to a silly knee problem. Highly recommended.

I stayed here with family for the Enchanted Forest and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I like the entrance and the grounds to this hotel and was able to get a parking space no problem. Staff were so friendly and attentive. The breakfast was great and plenty of selection. I really liked my room although it's not my typical choice of decor, spacious. Easy check-in/check-out. I'd definitely stay here again for sure!

The Pitlochry Hydro is a nice comfortable hotel in a good position looking of the hills around Pitlochry. Although it is looking a bit tired it is still a lovely building. The room we had was very spacious and the four poster bed was very comfy. The leisure facilities were great and the breakfast was plentiful. Would definitely go back .

The breakfast was delightful and on special order. The facility was very clean, neat, and nicely appointed. The bed comfortable. Since the builiding was on a hillside, the views terrific. The owners/staff very friendly and helpful. It was an excellent experience which we would gladly repeat if we get to Pitlochry again.

An excellent hotel. Charming and relaxing. Spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff and the best food we’ve come across in a long time. Comfortable bed and dog friendly which is one of the reasons we chose it in the first place. We intend this to be our go to hotel in Pitlochry next time we visit.

With private parking and a warm welcome this was a one night stay for us on our motorcycle tour of Scotland. Rooms were clean and comfortable albeit right at the top of the hotel. Breakfast was average and functional compared to others we had whilst on tour. Can recommend for a stay in Pitlochry

Very beautiful building inside and out. Felt like we were staying in a 5 star hotel with the modern decor in the rooms. Staff were very lovely. Location couldn't be better it was right on the main road, meant we could have a pint when we arrived and walk 2 mins back. Breakfast was very very tasty

The hotel is very comfortable and well situated in Pitlochry. We had a very good dog friendly room with a large king sized bed and excellent en-suite shower. Our dog was able to sleep in an entrance area which was separate from the bedroom.
