Ye Olde Nags Head, hotel in Castleton

The pub has a lovely atmosphere and our bedroom was lovely, dark carved wooden headboard, two lovely comfortable chairs. Yes we had a view of the cemetery from our window but no problem for us. The breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked. Also had a meal in the evening which was also good.

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Inn, hotel in Castleton

Surrounded by the Peak District countryside Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese inn is in the picturesque village of Castleton.

For a place of this size was not expecting a choice of breakfast so the variety was a very pleasant surprise. Nice and warm. Staff were really excellent and found me a room even though problems with the booking.com system lead to them being double booked.

Haddock Hideaway, hotel in Castleton

Haddock Hideaway offers accommodations in Castleton. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property and free private parking is available on site.

Location is great, just on the back street in Castleton (near the chippy!) Space for 4 cars. We were given clear instructions on how to enter the property with access codes, and our room was great (at the end of the corridor). There is a kitchenette in the room, which comprises of kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge, with crockery, glasses and cutlery. We were also given some boxes of cereal and some milk in the fridge, very unexpected and a lovely gesture. The bed was comfy, very peaceful rooms. The room was a little cold at first, but it warmed up over the weekend. There was a Smart TV in the room, guess you could log in to your Netflix or Amazon accounts if you wanted, although we didn't. Wifi worked great (thank goodness as there was no phone signal!) We will stay again (if they'll have us!)

Bulls Head, Castleton, hotel in Castleton

Located in Castleton, 10 miles from Buxton Opera House, Bulls Head, Castleton provides accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar.

I thought staff were up beat and nice but not good value for money -------------the breakfast is not a breakfast it was going to be "continental" we were to fill out some form for limited options - I think as I indicated porriage/oatmeal - I was going to have a packet to pour hot water in I think ---- then as it was Friday morning next day - we could get breakfast at their cafe next door - this turned out to be a basic pre-made sandwich to be microwaved and a cup of tea or coffee and maybe some awful looking pastry No this is not what I expected or thought I had paid for or good value for money

Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs.

Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs. Couldn’t use log burner as log store locked up . There was no property information as is usually in holiday rentals. The car park where you could use a free parking pass was full so had to pay, which is no fault of the property.

Excellent location to Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and surrounding walks. Village pretty and quaint with a few shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs to visit. Visitors center within the village. We stayed at the Castle, nice enough. Also ate there for dinner and food and service was good. I'd say Castleton is a place you'd stay for 1-2 nights.

    We love Castleton.

We love Castleton. It is such a great place for walking, from a short walk along the river to Hope, to 3-4 hour walks to Mam Tor or Loose Hill (this includes returning to Castleton). And there are some cozy fireside pubs right in the centre of the village with good food. We have stayed overnight at 3 pubs (Ye Olde Nags Head, The Castle and The Cheshire Cheese) and its just great. A few gift shops, but no supermarkets .... which means we are not tempted to do the shopping while we are away! To be honest I don't know where the nearest supermarket is. Have fun in Castleton!

Castleton is a lovely village with lots of things to do and see. You have to like hiking and hills especially. There are numerous pubs all offering similar ware and all having a warm ambiance that makes you feel welcome. The village is full of history and is truly the gateway to a lot of hiking routes, mines, and just general nice English things you can and should do

    A lovely little place!

A lovely little place! If you like waking or friendly pubs a great location! We went on a Friday and lots of the shops closed, not sure why? Only small not much about to ‘wander’ but a couple of tea rooms You can easily do a lovely loop of Castletown in under an hour.,

I love staying at YHAs in general, but they are all different: Castleton Losehill is special it is a beautiful property perfectly located in the Dark Peak- for me it's a great stopping point halfway between work and home. But more than that the villages around have tons of lovely pubs, shops, and history as well as being in a beautiful part of the world where you can go for walks long or short. YHAs are no frills but for 30 pounds to have your own room, have it be quiet and free wifi- you can't really complain.

Lovely spacious room with comfortable twin beds. Despite there being no air con it was nice and cool. I really enjoyed the powerful shower as well. Unlike other hotels I've stayed in, there was a generous amount of coffee and milk in the room with tasty cookies. The breakfast was also delicious and there's a bar with a pleasant seating area downstairs. The staff are super friendly and smiley. We will definitely go back as the location is great and there's much more to do in Castleton than we expected.

The location of the cottage is spectacular. It is central to everything you want to do in Castleton. There's a view of the castle from the single bedroom - a bonus we hadn't expected. The cottage is extremely clean and cozy. The parking lot is conveniently located across the street. Everything we needed - from dishes to laundry tabs - was already in the cottage. Instructions and recommendations supplied by the owners were very thorough and appreciated.

Excellent location in the heart of beautiful Castleton. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were large, clean and comfortable. There was lots of choice for breakfast, which wasn't included but was reasonably priced. Parking is free, but there are limited spaces, we got lucky and bagged one. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

The room was fantastic. Lovely large bed. Enjoyed the extras ie mini fridge with water and wine. Had a brilliant evening meal and breakfast. Superbly cooked and so much I could not eat it The next time we visit Castleton there is only one hotel that we will stay in and that is YOURS. We enjoyed every moment of our stay with you.

The location of Cliffe Cottage is perfect. We arrived at night so didn't get a full feel of the location in Castleton but woke up in the morning to the treat of Peak Cavern and the village. There are many wonderful hikes within walking distance too. The cottage has a cozy feel and is perfect for relaxing after a hike.
