The staff were just off the scale friendly and welcoming. Experiences like this are why independents can be so great. Handwritten welcome note and cake in the room! Excellent food too, a lovely venue, good car parking, and a ridiculously good value price. Wish it had been more than a flying visit on business

Our sea view room lived up to its label: the views over the town and coast were stunning. The hotel is old and characterful with wonky floors, beams and low ceilings: we like that. Short walk downhill to the harbour and free car parking. Good value for the price.

Perfect value for a comfortable and cosy stay on the Jurassic coast. Great to have a private parking space at the rear and the kitchen facility is a wonderful idea with a range of breakfast options. Everything felt very welcoming so would without a doubt happily stay again.

We stopped for a week and I could definitely have stayed longer, money allowing. I really like Charmouth. We went the first time probably 10 years ago and wanted to go back. I was not disappointed. I only went for fossil collecting, and came back very happy.

Wonderful beach for fossil hunting. Make sure you visit the discovery centre on the beach to check out tips on fossil hunting. Staff are very helpful. Charmouth is very small with 2 great pubs and a fish and chip shop so evening meals are limited . Bookings needed for The Royal Oak, but we'll worth it. We went for the fossils so although it was the wrong time of year the process of looking was satisfactory and we had booked a fossil your with Lyme Regis museum which was very good. Depending on the tides you can walk along the beaches easily and walk from Charmouth to Lyme Reis easily.RosieSouth Africa - 10Scored 10
On a sunny day, you would not want to be anywhere else!
On a sunny day, you would not want to be anywhere else! The sea is shallow and warm. You can walk along the coast, paddling most of the way , to Lyme Regis. There are also many inland footpaths. In the village itself there are a couple of lovely cafes and a couple of pubs. A lovely place to visit.

The cottage is warm, comfortable, very clean with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The seaview from the main bedroom was an added extra. Charmouth itself has everything you need, convenience store, great pub, excellent fish & chips etc all within a short walk. We didn't use the garden but it had lots of useful seating areas. The welcome pack was lovely too!
