only some of the rooms had newer reverse cycle air con. pot luck what you were allocated for the same price. This was hardly fair when mid winter , temps below 10 deg.and the only way of heating was a totally useless small plug room oil heater.

Bororen is sort of mid drive from Mackay to Brisbane.

Bororen is sort of mid drive from Mackay to Brisbane. It is a good stop over point even though the rooms are fairly basic the rooms are always well presented and clean. The small bar at the front of the property attracts a few locals and has a good selection of drinks. We stay here in particular due to the high standard of meals that the kitchen staff are able to produce and I would seriously recommend a stop here.

We stayed at the Kooroowatha Homestead Motel and as the Bororen pub is only 3 kms from the motel we decided to have dinner there before arriving at the motel. It was one of the best pub meals we have had in a long time and can highly recommend the food, the service, the country atmosphere and the pricing.

A great place to stop along the Bruce Highway.

A great place to stop along the Bruce Highway. Friendly staff at all places we visited, stayed in a comfortable room at the Motel , self catering if needed with microwave and an easy walk to Hotel and Service Station for meals .

It felt good and very relaxing, but we like the country areas a lot. It was easy to find and the check in was smooth. The yard surrounding the rooms is lovely and peaceful. There is a couple of interesting shops /coffee shop just a short walk away. It is on the highway, but we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. We ate in the hotel and the menu had all bases covered, the service was fast and the food delicious. The beer was cold too

This is a wonderful place to stay, especially if travelling with pets. The drive up and down the QLD coastline is long and stressful. A lot of traffic at times on the Bruce Highway. Being able to stay for a night at a property which is comfortable and inviting for pets is a joy to find.
