Featuring garden views, 2 bedroomed cottage near quay is located in Blakeney, around a few steps from Blakeney Harbor Room. The cottage was lovely clean and tidy , and everything we needed was there . It was so peaceful and relaxing .
Loved it, love Norfolk. Glad we went self catering at this time as, staffing and food in hotels, bars etc were short. We tried to eat out the first night and informed no food, later in the week only reisdents could go in again no staff no supplies. It was sad to see. People were being turned away. I love the peddars way on the coast beautiful.
Blakeney is small and perfectly formed if you like coastal locations. It's full of small boats in the harbour channels and the air is clear and clean. Easy to walk to Blakeney Point. Close to other appealing locations like Morston Quay - a walk away. On the Norfolk Coast Path. Parking isn't easy at the quay but up the small hill there's a fee paying car park at the top of the high street and free parking at the village hall if you're happy to walk from there.
I stayed in the village between May 25th and 28th. Blakeney is beautiful. The walks around it a great - especially for wildlife lovers. There are some good eating places, though I chose self catering, not least because The Blakeney Hotel wanted to charge me a £60.00/night surcharge for single occupancy (ugh!). Wiveton Hall (excellent coffee!), Moreton and Cley are all within easy walking distance, and there are lots of other sites to visit within easy motoring reach...
Blakeney is lovely but very busy in the season. It is full of holiday cottages and parking can be difficult as many of the snmaller cottages do not have parking provided so you either have to pay£5 per day or find limited street parking. Due to COVID restrictions we could not try out the local pubs etc but did get one excellent fish and ships from Alberts in Holt, which is close enough for a takeaway to be eaten back at the cottage.
Huge lack of on-street parking; very busy even in late summer. Not a vast choice of eateries, some not open to N/R, but the White Horse was excellent. It's ok if you're into boats & sailing; Morston is better for trips to the Point, seals, etc.
Lovely quaint fishing village. Beautiful part of the world. Holkham hall is fantastic and just a shirt or drive away or you can walk out into the reserve and walk along to the village down into Cley. It has something for everyone.
Our room had a wonderful view down to the quay and it had a good sized en suite. We were able to choose which of 3 rooms we would like to eat breakfast in and there was certainly no problem with being able to socially distance. There were several choices on the breakfast menu and the service was very good. The location of the hotel is excellent to explore the area on foot and there was always a parking space available in the hotel car park which was important, as Blakeney can get pretty crowded.

Central location in Blakeney, with nearby delicatessan, and easy access to local Spar shop and the bakery, plus very friendly pub a few doors down. near to quay and salt marsh causeway for walking my dog.
