The Onley is located in Braintree, 3.7 mi from Freeport Braintree, and features a restaurant, a bar and a garden. Guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a kettle. Our second stay here at The Only, and there will be a third! The friendly and helpful staff really do make all the difference.
Located in Braintree and with Freeport Braintree reachable within 0.9 mi, Haus Serviced Living features a shared lounge, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a garden. I enjoyed my stay. Highly recommended to anyone who is searching for a place for a short stay.
Located in Black Notley, 27 mi from Clacton-on-Sea, Ross House features a garden and free WiFi. The place was spot on. It was well priced and net my exact needs. The room was grrat and you could tell that the host, Isabelle takes great pride in what she does. The property is fitted out very well and maintained to an exceptional standard. The bed was very comfortable. The room facilities were better than a lot of hotels which is unusual for a bed and breakfast. Isabelle herself was very pleasant and welcoming. She was personable and friendly. I would recommend this business very highly.
With picturesque lake views , Annex at Gosfield Lake offers free WiFi throughout. Free on-site parking is also available. Clean compact unit. Beautiful setting and view. Cereals and milk provided, as well as tea coffee and sugar. Very comfortable bed. Highly recommended.
Quite a sharp turn off from road into hotel, nearly missed it! Excellent car park, no problems finding spaces. All staff very helpful and friendly.Room lovely and clean, quite welcoming. Good breakfast , items replenished when getting low. Did not eat any other meals in the hotel as opposite a restaurant and ate evening meals there instead. I enjoyed my stay here so much so that I booked again at another branch two weeks later.
Can't say a lot as I was only there for one night, but it seemed a pleasant fairly quiet town with an attractive central square. Many white buildings, looked historic but no time to find out. Would think it is well worth getter no to know better. Trains from/to London Liverpool St.
We planned our trip to go to chelmsford races, would have been better if 'the night of queen' hadn't been cancelled , but enjoyed our stay, the hotel was good value for money and would definitely stay here again
Braintree was created as a Saxon trading post and so has a lot of history. It is now very handy for Stansted airport. Freeport shopping is just a stone's throw away with all the retail outlets plus cinema, swimming pool, tenpin bowling etc. A free bus runs there from Victoria street every 15 minutes.
Lots of places to eat and a nice street market on Saturday, very handy for exploring the area. interesting old buildings and nice shopping arcades. Town is kept very clean and was quiet in the evening.
My ancestors came from Braintree. I by mistake got off the train at Braintree Village Mall. I had a great lunch, bought two nice shirts, and was able to take a free bus ride to town. I was able to visit the library, museum, and other shops. I bought a ring in Braintree that will always be super meaningful to me. I also like the American connections to Braintree as well as the rich Christian history of John Bunyan, author of Pilgrim's Progress, and the Pilgrims who strayed there. The shops, food, buildings, and people were wonderful. AFTER I had a delicious lunch the café staff trusted me to go a block away to use an ATM machine as they didn't use a card. I found that very kind and trusting. I loved the shops and decent prices. I would have liked to stay longer if I hadn't had a schedule to follow!
The room was lovely and clean. It was perfect for our stay with all the necessary facilities to hand. The breakfast was very fresh and replenished regularly. The bed was comfortable and a choice of two pillars for our comfort. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and chatty. I wish I had remembered to get her name....we had a good chat at breakfast too. This lady is the perfect front person for the hotel.
Nice spacious warm and inviting room, was glad to have a tv to myself for a day and not share a toilet and shower with others. Good access to bus station which you can take a free bus into Braintree Freeport shopping village and walking distance to town. The gentleman that showed me around was very attentive and made me feel welcomed.
Location in the middle of town which was great for where is was meeting people Room was fairly clean, and had all the same amenities of the budget chain hotels. South-facing room, plenty of sunshine
Attention to detail for the design of the hotel, pub and cafe. Extremely clean with some of the friendliest staff and owner that I’ve ever met.
