The host was attentive and friendly and the farm so lovely in the summer! We could not have been happier here. We stayed in the Garden Studio which was a lovingly hand-crafted gypsy caravan - style shepherds hut. New condition, and big enough for two who don't mind being cozy. Very nice enclosed private yard with a swing and views of the fields and sheep and chickens.

Cannington is a small town of character with many 18th...

Cannington is a small town of character with many 18th century buildings. The original nunnery from the 13th century is converted into a conference centre housing the Hinkley Point Visitor Centre which is open to the public for free admission. James is the expert and happy to answer any questions and explain the models on display when he isn't accompanying daily guided tours to Hinkley Point C, the largest construction site in Europe, employing 15,000 in the construction of the new nuclear power station 2018-2030. In the grounds is the excellent Brassage café/restaurant. Adjacent are walled gardens open to the public for a nominal fee and with a café also. Dinner at the Friendly Spirit Pub was very good as was the Malt Shovel Inn, Blackmore Lane a mile or so outside Cannington for lunch.
