Lovely area with scenic views all around. Great Clifton is an attractive well kept village with excellent road connections. We visited Cockermouth, Keswick and also some of the spectacular out of the way scenic places. We had snacks in one of the many attractive places in Cockermouth. Quality in all respects and value for money. Lots of on site parking. Very friendly staff. Good location for exploring the west coast and western lakes. Lovely room, very clean, food good, just a few niggles, 2 bedside lamps not working, tv remote switched tv on but didn’t work to change channel, possibly needed new batteries?! Forgot peppercorn sauce at dinner and when brought, after we asked, it was lukewarm and very gloopy, certainly not worth the extra £3+. Breakfast was ok though we waited 40 mins, think we’d been forgotten the waitress we’d ordered with actually asked us, when we asked, if we’d ordered!!! Such a nice place..
Such a nice place.. Loved the fact the rooms are separated and looks like cabins.. Good connection to the District Lake as it was the main purpose of our trip. The lady at Reception was really kind.. All amenities are available in the room. The parking facilities are excellent and is free to park your car for the duration of your stay. The hotel has a restaurant and bar. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was superb. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located on the the outskirts of town, which was ideal for us. Lovely surroundings.
