Everything. Breakfast was lovely. Tasting menu was amazing. Staff were great, especially the girl on the reception/room service who we saw the most. Would visit again and highly recommend. Fantastic little hotel near a lot of beautiful sights. Neil started things off with a supremely efficient and friendly welcome at reception. The rooms very very modern, comfortable and fully stocked. The "retreat" lobby was a great place to spend a little time reading or relaxing. We loved it.

Try the hop on hop off bus to get around good value. You can get to Chatsworth, Castleton and Bakewell and many more in between. Would also recommend the Indian restaurant Maazi in Hathersage plenty of choice and good service.

Nice little town, several choices of eating places.

Nice little town, several choices of eating places. Bank House was excellent for evening meal. I like the fact there is a lido in the town, though we didn't swim there. Must be lovely with the hills all around. Great starting point for exploring - lovely walks along the river Derwent and up to the "Edges" among the birch trees. Short drive to Bakewell, Baslow, Chatsworth, Castleton, Ladybower. Chesterfield or Sheffield if you want bigger towns.

Plenty of history to see and shorts walks around village. Shops had everything you need and outdoor shops are very well stocked . Little John Inn is a good place to stay eat and rest with a drink. The village is also close to some of the best outdoor activities on offer in the peaks.

A great base for exploring the Peak District and there are good bus links to Bakewell and Sheffield. I recommend The Bank House for a great Sunday lunch. There is a small fish & chip shop next door to The Bank House which does very good fish and chips but pay with cash if you can. Maazi's Indian Restaurant does decent Indian food but we found the staff there very stand off-ish. The local pubs promote the beers of local breweries such as Eyam. There is a good mix of locals and tourists / walkers. We spent a long weekend there and it was perfect.

Great place for walking and relaxing in a small quiet village. Enjoyed a lovely walk to the church to see where Little John was laid to rest and soak up the surrounding views, which in late autumn were very colourful. A tranquil place that would suit any visitor. Missed the outdoor swimming pool, a must for next time!

The plough inn is a lovely old pub with accomodation. We stayed in one of 3 shepherd's huts. It was very quiet and perfect for us and our pet dog. It is within easy walking distance of the centre of Hathersage. Also easy to get in to nearby Sheffield by car, bus or train. The pub staff were all lovely and helpful, we were lent maps of the area to plan walks. Breakfast was generous and the evening meal was tasty and reasonably priced. We hope to stay there again

We had plenty of room in the family suite and the staff were friendly and helpful with my little boy. Breakfast was very delicious. We arrived too late for dinner but judging by the smells from the kitchen and how busy it was, dinner looked good! The hotel is beautifully situated with amazing views on one side and National Trust Longshaw woodland and park on the other.

Room was warm and stuffy Bed and bathroom clean and comfortable I arrived at 11.45 as I wanted to leave my car in thir car park before going to a family event. I know it was too early to check in room but wanted to talk to hotel staff but it was all locked up, they don't open until noon. This is a pub with rooms, not a hotel.
