We ate out locally in the Greyhound, and The Pleasure Boat Inn. Both friendly and delicious food. Fish and Chips from the Mermaid's Tale in Sea Palling, absolutely delicious. Really nice staff in the Premier shop. Lovely wee village. Dairy barns was a lucky find for us. We stayed 2 nights. Could not fault the room, breakfast or staff. WiFi and signal is limited due to the area. Would definitely stay again and recommend to our friend's and family. My little boy enjoyed seeing the horses. We had a lovely trip to sea palling beach. A visit to poppylands 1940's cafe is a must! Hickling is fairly close to the beaches where you can walk...
Hickling is fairly close to the beaches where you can walk or see the seals at specific times. The countryside is beautiful (August) and the location is close to other nice little villages like Happisburgh which has a nice pub and a walk down to the beach but you do need a car. Our favourite place was the Old Vicarage gardens, 15 mins away, which were truly spectacular and would recommend if you love gardens and flowers. Opens at 12noon and has a cafe. We ate out during the day but went to the Greyhound in Hickling one night which was awful. wouldn't recommend unless you like oven chips and microwaved food. As nature lovers we enjoyed NWT Hickling, especially the boat trip; we also visited Horsey Wind Pump and would highly recommend Ross's boat trip (best to book) and the seals at Horsey Gap.
