Didn't see much of Hook, as just a stop over on a long journey, but it looked a well appointed small town. It's well placed logistically, near to Basingstoke, and easier to negotiate due to its size. Also it has a main line railway station right by the hotel, which I would think is a big plus point.

An outstanding venue, it all begins with the approach along the tree lined drive. Tylney Hall looks so impressive on arrival and does not disappoint! The gardens and orchards are tranquil spaces, outside seating very inviting and such comfort sitting inside. There are plenty of areas both in and out to lose yourself if this is what you want. Staff definitely go above and beyond, re-visit most definitely on repeat!

To me Hook is an idyllic English village.
To me Hook is an idyllic English village. It is clean and the residents are very courteous and welcoming to foreigners. I very much enjoyed chatting with them while having a pint in the pub. When I first arrived on the train from Woking I was struggling a bit with my luggage which was quite heavy. As I was leaving the train station I had to go up a long staircase to a bridge that takes one over the railroad tracks to the other side of the station. A man and his son saw me having some difficulty and took the luggage and carried both pieces across for me. That's hospitality!

Fir tree lodge room 8 not fit for purpose. Noise heard from neighbouring rooms and bed stuck against wall!
Whole hotel is very dated and a bit too business/conference based rather than comfy/cosy country hotel which it should be.
Staff very friendly though and breakfast was enjoyable.

The White Hart Was a great choice for us for a couple of nights.
We were room only so can’t comment on the breakfast but we eat there in the evening and it was all good.
We could recommend Hook Tandoori and Cafe Baristas for breakfast.
There’s not a lot in the village but Farnham is not far and a lovely Town.

The look of the County Hotel is exceptional.
The look of the County Hotel is exceptional. The surroundings are picturesque. Rooms are good. The reception is very welcoming. Car park has plenty of spaces. The disabled car parking spaces are very near to the Reception entrance, which was very convenient.
Free wifi. Not too far from the hustle bustle of London.
A place worth visiting and staying, with friends and/or families..

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice characterful room in old part of hotel. Appreciated having the usual niceties (eg water glasses, tissues, daily room cleaning) now missing from some other hotels. Hearty breakfast at very reasonable price. Convenient check-in/out online.

Absolutely nothing. This was without question one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. From the filthy accommodation to the complete lack of basic facilities and the dismissive attitude towards our complaints, there was nothing positive about this stay.
