The location was perfect for exploring Lynton. Our host Drew was very helpful in suggesting a nearby restaurant and booking a nearby restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding! We thought parking on the street would be a problem, but after 4pm, spaces conveniently opened up. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed.

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit.

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit. Plenty of great pubs and places to eat set in a very picturesque environment. The cliff railway was interesting to ride on and the Exmoor visitors centre was very informative. The valley of rocks was amazing to visit.

Lynton is a lovely small village with all amenities you need. Couple of pubs with good food and drink. Some excellent food restaurants especially the Kensington for steaks. The Green house was brilliant for early morning coffee and fry up. If going to Lynemouth then take the train - walking up and down ( we did both) is brutal and you need to be fit and healthy to do either.

Lynton isn't the easiest place to drive to but well worth the effort. We avoided Porlock Hill (we have a very old car) and used the toll road. It costs £3 but the views are wonderful. Lynton itself has plenty of places to eat, a good Arts and Crafts Centre plus a second-hand community bookshop, as well as lots of other interesting shops. It's a lovely little town just to wander round and of course you have the cliff railway to take you down to Lynmouth.

Lynton is a lovely little town, plenty of eating places. The only down side is the hill getting there, it is very, and the turn into Lynton is very sharp. Choughs Nest Hotel is a lovely place good views, but the breakfast was not up to much for me, and it's the only hotel we've stayed in where you don't get any bottles of water.

Both Lynton and Lynmouth are beautiful villages with many shops, cafes and restaurants. It’s lovely to just walk round in the evening too. There is the added bonuses of the vehicular tram and a cute independent cinema. Lynton is between Minehead and Barnstaple, so you can easily get to anywhere you would like to go in between. It’s a perfect central location.

Room was pretty basic but a decent size, clean and airy. Beds were comfy and view over town was lovely, especially at night (enormous windows!). Hotel's central location was ideal for exploring Lynton and Lynmouth. Breakfast was an extra tenner for adults (if booked separately) and plentiful! Also, elevator worked just fine!

Phil and Ness were so lovely we could stay there just because of them. But everything else was perfect too. We had a very nice room and the breakfast was outstanding. We got all the help and information we needed and had a really good time in Rockvale house while hiking around the area and seeing Lynton and Lynmouth.
