I went to the HOLIDAY INN in SUTTON on business. I could not believe it. I received a £100.00 parking ticket for parking my car in the hotel car park. EVEN THOUGH I HAD BUSINESS AT THE HOTEL. I rang their reception who just advised I should take up the matter directly with the company monitoring their car park. Don't stay there.

Lovely place to stay in a great location for traveling into London. Manager was very friendly and helpful, room was great with very comfortable beds. This was our second stay here so would definately recommend.

Our visit was to attend a funeral of the son of a good friend. Just by being there it could form a good base for visiting London. Public transport, train and bus, plentiful. Charshalton has some picturesque parts and interesting architecture close to the Greyhound Hotel.

Firstly, our room was old and tired. There was no dust or dirt as such but it just wasn't cleaned thoroughly (grime around bathroom fittings etc). Meagre in room tea/coffee etc with not enough cups (paper) for the number of people in the room and not even a biscuit. Sagging mattresses. Bought breakfast (had to pick an available time slot the evening before (like I know what time I will wake and be ready for food after a late night party). Also once breakfast was explained we were told we had just 30 minutes to eat!!!. Won't stay here again. The high cost of the room (£164 for the night) just wasn't worth it and then another £9.95 for a rushed breakfast. The only plus for the Holiday Inn is that it has parking which is difficult to find in Sutton. I know Sutton quite well and the Holiday Inn is not far from local shops and bars. It is also only about a 5 min walk to the station but it is not somewhere to stay unless you have to. Sutton is also on a hill so getting around is a bit weary, especially if you have mobility issues, as we have. There are no highlights or things/places of intetest. We were there for a family party. Next time I will get the family to come to me in Worthing.

Rooms were gorgeous and shower was so good, it was a very pleasant stay, roast dinner in the restaurant was lovely and breakfast was amazing. The only down side was the doors as you entered the building where the bedrooms were slammed terribly which went on banging quite late but when mentioned it at reception they were aware of it and said they would correct it other than that the stay was very good.

Good: Convenient for work stay near Sutton. Good intaraction with friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Parking - while I dislike hotel parking charges the hotel did only charge the minimum amount for the vehicles we had so not as bad as expected. Not So Good: Parking charge - pet hate as I think this is just a room rate enhancement however this is not the only hotel to indulge in this practice by any means so I won't single them out on this one.
