Stay at the Mercure Wetherby Hotel and experience everything you'd expect from an international hotel company. I found all the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful .The breakfast was superb. I had a couple of drinks in the bar and the manager and his staff were extremely professional and welcoming. You have a great asset in the staff that you employ and I hope they are appreciated.

Really pretty little place - we were only there 2 nights for a wedding, but I would love to have stayed there longer and done some exploring - of Wetherby itself and of the surrounding area - I love this part of the world
I have been using the same hotel for aprox 15 years but have changed job so hadn’t stayed there for 3 years so booked as I thought it was be to the same standard , I was amazed how it had fallen below the standard of previous years , room was terrible and really dated electrical point out of walls and hidden behind beds and the floors hadn’t been hoovered plus the bathroom was filthy , they offered to change my twin room for a double which was of the same standard , so asked for a refund and had to go to the days inn at wetherby services , the staff were apologetic and said they were sorry 😞 not there fault it actually looked like the hotels around London the houses the refugees and homeless , I think the mecure need to send a member of management and have a good look at the situation going on there.
This was the worst experience of any hotel I have booked with. I booked two nights and after driving from Birmingham to Wetherby I called into the hotel to let them know that I would check in later in the evening and was told that would be fine. However, I was contacted at 9:17pm to say that there was a problem with the room and that they couldn’t accommodate my husband and I even though this was a prepaid visit. I was told I wouldn’t be charged for that evening but they could offer us accommodation the next evening which was already booked! We ended up having to sleep on someone’s settee for the evening (we are 70 years old). I cannot see why it took until after 9:00pm to inform us that there was a problem - it was inexcusable. Reception staff seemed disinterested and uninformed. Shocking service and don’t depend on getting what you paid for!
Wetherby is a nice little town with good amenity, cafes, pubs, restaurants and riverside walks. A great base. Booking.com taxi service however not up to par; it was a fiasco they charge more than double the rate (£18) for same taxi booked directly with same taxi company (£8) and the booking process is fragile and for me did record accurately the required times, booking.com were unfriendly and would not refund the £18. Once
An interesting market town, which retains much of its old charm since the A1(M) took the traffic away from the high street. Very colourful with baskets of colourful flowers everywhere. Nice walks by the River Wharfe and the market area attractive. predominated by Charity Shops. The Garden of Rest is a delightful oasis to spend time in.
Wetherby is a good stop for getting around Harrogate etc , We had difficulty fi ding pl aces to eat at night, apart from very expensive chippy, and several Italian restaurants. The river is a lovely area to chill out for an hour or two if weather is fine.
The Hotel and its grounds are gorgeous, we had a lovely room with good facilities and good views. They even are the first hotel (of many good quality hotels we’ve stayed in) to actually put Gluten Free biscuits in the room with the normal biscuits, maybe a minor point for some but Major for me..very impressed, as having always told hotels about this aspect no one has ever done this for me before..it boded very well! The Spa looked great although we didn’t use it. The staff were very welcoming and friendly...but more later...

Nice old pub in centre of Wetherby, walking distance to everything in town centre. New rooms- still the smell of paint, well equipped but right on main road so you cannot open window as too noisy. Breakfast was only continental when we were there as problem with kitchen electrics.
It's a comfortable hotel close to A1and close to Wetherby . Wished we'd booked the spa earlier .last places had just gone when we arrived. they offered to book us for next morning but unfortunately had to we had to leave early. staff are friendly .
