Some nice restaurants nearby to enjoy. The buffet was very good. The bed was comfortable. Nice size room, bathroom. The shower had nice water pressure. The free bottled water was a nice touch.

The hotel was very clean and updated. We are traveling in a group of 3 and it was very nice that 2 of the beds were together and 1 was a little bit separate from the other 2. Also the breakfast staff were amazing. Trisha and Adrienne were there to help when it was very busy. Adrienne went out of his way to get my son a plastic spoon that we could take to use on the train and water for our walk.

We choose this hotel for the vicinity of the highway and the airport since we planned to do a lot of visiting to other cities. We visited Venice, Verona, Imola, and of course Bologna. We've had plans to visit Ravenna and Florence but we were too tired. It totally met our expectations. The breakfast was also great!

FAQs about hotels in Bologna

A Gourmet Delight

World-class cuisine is what Bologna does best. Nowhere in Italy, a country with considerable culinary heritage, is the food considered to be better than in this medieval gem.

Bolognese sauce of course originated here, but to try the real thing look for "ragú" on the menu. Cold meats and cheeses are also exquisite. Make sure you save plenty of time for eating – the Bolognese like to savor their food, so a meal can last for hours.

Many of the best eateries and homemade ice cream shops are found behind the mile upon mile of porticoed streets, now UNESCO World Heritage sites. The complex of medieval churches and buildings in cobbled Piazza Santo Stefano is a tranquil spot to explore. Climb one of the Two Towers nearby (not the one leaning at a startling angle) for spectacular views of this red-roof city.

The focal point of Bologna is huge Piazza Maggiore, whose Santo Petronio church has an unimpressive, half-finished façade that doesn’t prepare you for its sheer scale inside. Fanning out from this square, the buildings of Europe’s oldest university, founded in 1088, are home to the city’s best museums.

Bologna accommodations at Booking.com range from small B&Bs to luxury hotels, all easily accessible from Bologna Airport just outside the city.

Very beautiful city with great vibe. It would be more beautiful without the graffiti but which city doesn’t have any (unfortunately). Very calm with nice views and nature. Great public transportation options (I’m glad it’s possible to buy ticket just by beeping your card).

Bologna was a beautiful city to walk around in, with fun shopping, delicious gelato, and excellent pasta. We also visited a few museums, all of which were interesting. However, in the summer it was extremely hot, and there was nowhere to swim. One day we took the train to Rimini, which was wonderful. That made us realize it might have been better to stay on the coast (for example in Rimini or one of the nearby towns) and take the train into Bologna for a day instead. Don’t miss the Santuario di Madonna di San Luca. We walked up (in the heat) but were completely taken by the stunning views and the beautiful church. Truly memorable. Be sure to bring plenty of water!

We were last in Bologna 20 years ago, and it was a lively Italian city. It has now really been ‘discovered’ and is as busy as Florence and Rome. I would definitely consider coming in the shoulder or off season to really appreciate it.

    Great walking city.

Great walking city. Beautiful architecture all around so you feel fully immersed in traditional Italian culture - but is a place for couples rather than families. It generally appears that the entire city continues to a little over-excited about Mortadella though, a sausage made of liquidised pig and seemingly the inspiration for Spam. It’s a perfectly decent sandwich filling, but nothing to write home about (and yet here I am doing just that). I had the misfortune to have a cone of the stuff in cube-form and covered in what seemed to be Dairylea, which left me a little traumatised by all accounts - so much so in fact, I didn’t eat it all, which is quite unusual for a man of such an enormous and undiscerning appetite!

Bologna la dotta, la grassa, la rossa - it's the city I totally fell in love with. Unlike other well-known Italian cities that are overcrowded with tourists, in Bologna, one feels like a Renaissance scholar and artist. The city has its own lively and vibrant atmosphere, with food to die for.

Bologna was an unplanned stop on our travels through Italy but we were so glad we went. We loved walking through all the beautiful porticoes which provided much relief from the heat of the day. The towers were fun to explore and the food was amazing. For great food, I recommend RoseRosa and their main restaurant, La Capriana. The people of Bologna were very friendly and we felt safe walking around Old Town in the late evenings.

I'd recommend the hotel for anyone staying in Bologna. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when the key to my hotel room broke. The breakfast was basic, but it matches your needs as a traveller. The location is also central. It's on the edge of the centre, but still in the centre nevertheless. I didn't like the walk in shower in the room though. It had no shower head, which I do prefer to have. Otherwise, I enjoyed my experience here.

Very central location and easily walkable route to centre of Bologna (even with construction!). Staff at the hotel are exceptionally helpful and friendly, very easy to ask for help with anything. Also located 2 minutes away from shopping centre with Aldi and pharmacy with is very useful if needed. Roof terrace with jacuzzi is also a great amenity at the hotel!

We booked this hotel as it was convenient when coming from the airport to the Bologna central train station with Marconi express. However, the room size, cleanliness and staff professionalism totally exceeded our expectations. It was also very convenient for walking around Bologna, with only 10-15 minutes to the city center.
