Gorgeous hotel the design and accommodation was fantastic.

A new complex, everything was as advertised

Very good location, further from the city centre which makes it a quiet and enjoyable! About 10 min drive to Sassi. Very modern hotel with a nice design inside and outside. Friendly and very accommodating staff 👍 Enjoyed our morning breakfast at the buffet as well. Will definitely stay here again when we are back to Matera.

Everything! Clean, ample parking exterior/interior, professional staff , high quality food: the best breakfast I had in an hotel/resort! Super comfortable room with highly efficient air conditioning! They even had Maple syrup from Quebec! Exceptional in magic Matera!

It started with the check in. Anna Marie, at the check in desk was fun, helpful, interesting and a delight to talk with. Her warm and helpful welcome started off our stay there in the best way. We followed up with her the next day about the history of the hotel and gardens which we were curious about. The hotel is 30 years old and well maintained. We loved that it had a "retro" feel to it. Parking was convenient and our room very comfortable. The next morning we walked the gardens and saw they had a bar and restaurant so there were amenities we were unaware of. The breakfast was tasty. The place was quiet and we agreed we were glad we stayed just outside of the city.

The room is extremely modern and I love that. The staff is super helpful and amazing. I sprained my ankle and they were very attentive to helping me out. They also were helpful with finding good places to eat dinner. Their breakfast is amazing. You have to try their Cornetto

Throughout our stay, we were met with warm hospitality and outstanding professionalism from the incredibly polite and helpful staff. For guests traveling by car, there is ample parking in the hotel’s beautifully maintained outdoor grounds, plus the convenience of a gas station located right out front. The rooms and common areas were spotless, comfortably furnished, and filled with natural light. Breakfast was a highlight—served with excellent, attentive service that managed to feel wonderfully welcoming and family-like at the same time. Without a doubt, this hotel offers incredible value for money. Highly recommended!

Located just 15 minutes from Matera’s centre by car, this location is perfect for those who want to be close to the city but still enjoy the peace and quiet and park without charge.

Wonderful place, great location, beautiful area surrounding it, very peaceful. Very comfortable room, spacious and comfortable. Great breakfast and dinner, even prepared dishes to our request. And most of all the staff and service. The best possible, both reception and restaurant. Highly recommended.

An amazing hotel in an amazing place. Highly recommend!

Excellent hotel in a superb location. Barbara at the reception is lovely and amazing.

LOOK NO FURTHER, BOOK NOW! Absolutely exceptional location, accommodation AND staff. Walking distance to the historical center of the stunning Matera, these incredible caves capturing every aspect of their forgotten charm also offer the luxury of every modern amenity one may need. Such a unique experience worth every penny: from the incredible courtesy of Pasquale from the front desk (taking care of us as if we were the only guests, bringing coffee for my parents' super early mornings, making restaurant reservations and ensuring parking transfers), to the kind bell boys carrying very heavy luggage up long & cumbersome stairs, to the very rich breakfast in an old cave church, the housekeeping 2x/day bringing fresh fruit and water into the room, the bar staff still serving us drinks after a long journey even though it was officially after hours or the therapists offering 1h massages in the intimacy of your own cave. We were very delighted with the time spent here and would come back any time!

Vetera Matera is a wonderful place to spend your time in this magical city. This is the best hotel we had the pleasure to experience! From the attention to detail to the white glove treatment that every member of the staff reserved to us. Delicious breakfast that offers local products and kind service. The dinner was out of this world, Andrea and his staff made our time in the restaurant even more precious. They exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to all of the staff, Marco and his team are doing a fantastic job. A special mention to Claudia and Filippo that took care of our arrival and departure. I wouldn't be surprised to see this new hotel become the most desired place to stay in Matera. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

The breakfasts were fabulous, the staff helpful and the location perfect! The beds were very comfortable, and the facility was very clean throughout.

Beautiful location with clean and comfortable rooms. About 15 minutes from Matera so if you want to visit the "Sassi" and not deal with the crowds and noise, definitely suggest staying here. We did not try the restaurant but breakfast was very good and fresh. Personnel super friendly. There also common terraces where you can sit and sip a glass of wine during sunset and just relax and enjoy the scenery.

Everything! Staff was nice, breakfast was beautiful with lots of selections. Room was clean and comfortable.

Staff was so generous, they came our of hotel to receive us and helped us with luggage and also car park.

Amazing location, all was clean. Lovely stuff

Nice cave room. Very comfortable bed. Staff were helpful. Nice view in front of hotel. Good location, short walk from main square and parking garage.

Best location it is in the center of the old town with a nice view. Great Breakfast in a cave or terras next to the reception.

Staff were so helpful and made our stay very enjoyable.

Fantastic and very unique hotel. Right in the heart and yet very peaceful. The room was quite big and had all the amenities. The unique old-style swimming pool is the best we have seen in a hotel. Breakfast was great, unique, and filling. All the complimentary experiences were designed with a lot of thought and detail.

the location and the view from the room
