This is a lovely, spacious B&B with tall ceilings and lots of interesting original artwork. The staff and management are friendly and kind, and take great care to accommodate every need. It was my second stay, and wouldn’t think of any other place when visiting Carrara.

We chose to visit Carrara primarily for its renowned marble quarries and vibrant sculpture scene. If you have an interest in these arts, Carrara certainly offers a rich experience. The city itself is bustling, focusing largely on the industry that revolves around marble. Aside from this, Carrara might not offer the typical tourist attractions. However, its coastal section presents a more traditional tourist experience with beautiful views and some leisure activities. For visitors whose interests align more with cultural and industrial heritage, especially related to marble and sculpting, Carrara is an exceptional destination. For others, it might require a bit more exploration to uncover its charms.

Small but friendly town.
Small but friendly town. Please note that on Friday night all the restaurants in the center are reserved and none accepts that a tourist wants to have dinner at 8.30 pm. Even after looking around I couldn't find a single restaurant that would accept to serve me. Although they continue with empty tables waiting for reservations. Never again and be careful it's a beautiful city to see and leave in 2 hours.

I spent only one night in Carrara with the goal to visit Carrara Marble Tour. The tour was super interesting, I would definitely recommend the tour. I enjoyed the walks in the area of Piazza Alberica. It is interesting to see the usage of marble in the city. I had a dinner at Osteria la Piazza and I would recommend the place.

The best thing about Carrara is the trip up into the surrounding marble mountains to visit the quarries there. This is a superbly organised tour with stunning views of the working quarries - an 'out there' experience.
Carrara itself is small and, although it has some nice piazzas, has nothing much to recommend it for.

A beautiful city famous for its quarries in the mountains...
A beautiful city famous for its quarries in the mountains nearby and white marble. It has long beaches and many good restaurants. There are several small interesting tourist places nearby, A trip to nearby Pisa or Cinque Terre is also wonderful experience.
Our stay at Merlo d’Oro was fantastic, and the owners are amazing people, very friendly and welcoming. Paulo was a superstar and very warm and welcoming, always happy to offer assistance!
It was one of our best stays for a long time and I would love to stay again if I am passing through the area. Is also a good location to stay if wanting to visit Cinque Terre for day trips. We went on the train from the nearby Carrara station each day to Cinque Terre. Highly recommended and definitely a great place to stay.
Absolutely enjoyed this stay and can fully recommend this accommodation if staying in Carrara!
Jacopo, the owner, is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms and the bathroom are really spacious and have beautiful paintings on the walls. Everything was super clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed staying in this beautiful and idyllic villa with the view from the balcony and window. Breakfast was also super thoughfully prepared and very tasty. When we return to Carrara, we will love to stay here again!
We loved the building, and the antiques and particularly the owner. We arrived on a Sunday, and there were very few cabs running, and so Connado picked us up at the train station. He told us so much, and had we not booked tours before we got there, he could’ve done the tours himself. He is an antique dealer, and grew up in the area. He knows everything! He absolutely made our trip to Carrara Wonderful. We were able to go on a tour of some marble quarries and that was absolutely incredible.
The location was excellent. Close to the city center, it on main road for the beach resorts and other travels nearby. Safe and convenient parking within the Villa gates. Breakfast was perfect with every option for personal individual tastes. Best of all, our host was wonderful. She shared so many recommendations for day trips , restaurants and secret finds. We want to return for another carefree stay at Villa Belverde .
Very comfortable, beautiful and spacious room that has thoughtful historical design details. We loved the calm feeling. The antique marble sink basin is marvelous and the bathroom has all new fixtures and is spotlessly clean. There is a wonderful adjoining kitchenette room too. A perfect place to feel part of ancient Carrara history. Great hosting communication as well.
The B & B was fabulous! So clean & comfy. Best bed & pillows we've had this trip. Svetlana was very friendly and gave us contact information for both a Carrara Marble Quarries Tour & the local taxis. (Take the tour, it was fantastic!) We loved sitting on the rooftop terrace, relaxing and drinking wine. The town is quaint & very walkable. We'd definitely stay again!
The hotel is recently redecorated, in a stunning design.
The staff attitude is customer oriented, behind any expectations.
The location is perfect to reach any point of interest.
Room clean and warm, silent and cozy.
The breakfast on the top floor is the best way to start the day, with a wonderful view on the Carrara's mountains.
The house is on a hill between Carrara and Massa with a wonderful green surrounding. Since it was renovated just a few years ago, everything is in a good condition. The garden is spacious and we loved the quietness. The apartment was very clean.
The host was very friendly and helpful, available at any time if we had questions.
This is a jewel of a place. Svetlana and Daniele were so helpful and lovely. The decor is charming, location in Carrara perfect, view from the roof- spectacular!
A pleasure to have stayed and met these lovely hosts. FYI spacious rooms, plenty of hot water in gorgeous bathroom, full size washer and dryer.

Margherita the host is a wonderful lady who immediately gave us a warm welcome. We stayed in a wonderful spacious room , beds were perfect not too soft, not too strong. The room gave us the piece we needed during our workation stay in Carrara.
The entire property is very clean and well-kept. It has quite a up-to-date feel to it. The views out onto the town are nice. The manager was very friendly. Carrara is an extraordinarily interesting place, and the air is very clear.
We filled in the forms on the art Gallery. Our room was on comfortable with queen size bed and bathroom. The vintage interior with view on the marble mines of Carrara was an
example of good quality for a good prize.
