This is a part of Tivoli that I had not been aware of, apart from passing through in visiting Villa Adriana some time before. (Actually preferred this part, but the famous gardens are further up in the higher part of town.)
What an incredibly lovely, beautiful and historic ancient town! Villa d'Este, Villa Adriana, Villa Gregoriana, Centro Storico and many options of bars, restaurants and other venues to buy pizza and other foods. Also, numerous grocery stores and a 6-days/week open air produce and fruits market in the centro storico. Be sure to check out "ilovit", on Viccolo dei Palatini, for cafe e cornetti; and tell Federica & Francesca that Marina & Tomas sent you!
Actually, we were in Tivoli for one week prior to the 3-night rental of Da Ghighi and already had plans for a subsequent extended stay. Tivoli is a wonderful place to stay, if one wants a day-to-day experience of a casual, quiet, charming hill-town typical of so many located throughout Italy. And, Tivoli's proximity to Rome, about 1-hour by train, makes an occasional daytrip to Rome quite easy, for anyone who arranges an extended stay in Tivoli.
The small hilltop town atmosphere, i.e., slow-placed, friendly people, small shops of all kinds, natural landscape/atmosphere, historical sights (such as Villa d'Este & Villa Adriana, etc.). Delicious local foods.
We expected Villa D'Este and Villa Adriana to be brilliant and they were but outshining both was Villa Gregoriana which we had not heard of before our arrival. The villa itself is a ruin but the area surrounding it was a natural paradise complete with waterfalls and jaw dropping beauty. At eight euros an absolute bargain. There were a great many restaurants to choose from in the town but we found them all very similar in terms of what was on offer. I think perhaps a good review of all of them before going may be worthwhile.
Excellent starting point for exploring mid-Italy Very clean authentic location, tastfully renovated . Helpful and very sweet hostess. Super location: vibrant yet peaceful heart of Tivoli, near waterfalls and the historic sites , also close to Rome .
Tivoli
I cannot recommend Il Colle b&b enough. Claudio was great, came and met us when we showed up much much earlier than we had planned. Il Colle was so perfect, the interior is incredible; so modern, clean, and beautiful. Our room was huge with a really comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge too with an awesome italian style rain shower. Claudio was very helpful. Tivoli was so beautiful, and a great hidden gem away from the tourists of Roma, and Il Colle was the perfect place to explore this wonderful city from.
Tivoli
A wonderful B&B run by the nicest family. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the B&B itself is lovely. It's in a historical building, set at the end of a gorgeous driveway lined with Italian Cypress, just steps from Villa Adriana. Easy parking, good wifi, comfortable beds, and a nice restaurant within walking distance. What more could you ask for? I would recommend this B&B to anyone thinking of coming to Tivoli! Don't just do a day trip from Rome - come and stay for a night or two!
Tivoli
Great location! Directly across from the Duomo in the historical city center. The room was clean and newly remodeled. The bed was comfortable and the wifi signal was good. There was a self-serve breakfast with lots of choices. There was lots of fresh fruit, an assortment of pastries, toast, jams, yogurt, juice. There was an espresso machine, cappuccino machine and a teapot. The owner was easy to contact and was very helpful. I regret that we didn't plan for a longer stay in Tivoli!
Tivoli
First time in Tivoli and it couldn't have gone better! Very welcoming house, helpful owners and fantastic location. The apartment is in a very central position and, thanks to the indications given by Matteo, getting to the main attractions of the city was very easy. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discover the beauty and charm of a city so ancient and rich in history.

Diego is so lovely. The apartment is in a great location and is extremely clean and comfortable. Diego is probably the nicest host I have ever met. He goes out of his way to make sure you enjoy your stay. He left us tea, coffee, cakes and even wine. He even gave us an in promptu little tour of Tivoli. He is just the nicest person! Highly recommend a stay here if you are in Tivoli.
This was a quick overnight on the way home from a 2-week driving vacation. The location was easy to find and we were close to sights we wanted to see in the area. The staff was friendly and the room was decent. There was a nice restaurant on site that made dinner plans easy. Parking was right in front of the hotel and included in the price of the stay.
Tivoli
The apartment was lovely although a bit small. Very well decorated with all the amenities available. Host was very nice and helpful to find our way. Situated in a great area on a quaint street close to the river and many restaurants. Tivoli is a great place to spend a few days. Love it

Tivoli
SO much!!! Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and good sized. It was a fairly quick drive to see Hadrian's Villa, Villa Gregoriana and Villa d'Este; which were our main goals. The food was wonderful and we really appreciated having breakfast and dinner figured out each day instead of having to search for something for every meal. Though the dinner menu isn't huge, it was delicious and I was happy having the same pasta more than once. The setting is nothing short of serene and relaxing. We couldn't have wanted anything more! Gorgeous sunsets overlooking the towns below, awesome play ground for the kids, beautiful courtyard, cute shop with their own honey, pasta, meats, cheeses, wines.... We GREATLY enjoyed our stay at La Cerra. I'd highly recommend it for families, friends and couples; it checks the box for everyone!
