It was a wonderful stay. The hotel is in a quiet location, but not too far from the night market and pub street (5min by foot). The room was great, clean and had everything that was needed (refrigerator, Minibar, AC, safe). The people are so nice, you get a cold towel after a hot sightseeing day and we were welcomed with a tee and snacks. In general, they have free snacks in the afternoon with a tee. There is filter water and two metal bottles to avoid plastics. They arrange trips, tours and guides for Angkor Wat and a lot of temples around. The pool is great, especially after a long day, you can enjoy it. They have a restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is great and perfect, if you would like to eat without going anywhere. All in all, a really great stay.

Certainly a must stay location to check off your bucket list. The rooms, views, are exceptional. While the restaurants were satisfactory, they didn't reach fantastic status, being in Siem Reap, fantastic dining options are easily available nearby. the customer service at this hotel is undeniably superb.

The Elephant was an amazing experience. I stayed here for 4 nights and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The reception staff spoke good English. I got the honeymoon suite where there was a bathtub in the balcony! They have a free tuk tuk to pub street in the evening so the location was never too far. Their tuk tuk guys, specially Buntong spoke good English and was very helpful on the tours. I would definitely recommend this place.

The property has a very stylish design, with all rooms facing the beautiful swimming pool, which has a charming deep blue color with the lights in the night. The place is extremely clean, and all the staffs are very friendly and helpful. We appreciate the warm welcome, together with complimentary wine, fruits, and mini bar, as well as being surprised to know laundry is complementary. Price is reasonable for everything, especially the car and tuk tuk services available for sight seeing in Angkor Wat and other places around the city. There are paintings of various celebrities who died during Cambodia Genocide during the Red Khmer regime all over the hotel, which is very impressive. Knowing history is a good way of knowing the country, and the efforts by the owner in this regard is appreciated.

The room was amazing, it’s very spacious, clean, always cold. I love how everywhere you turn there’s always plants which makes the environment very fresh. Don’t get me started on the staffs, they’re all such sweet and kind human beings. I, a minor, went on this trip alone and yet felt so safe cause the staffs took care of me very well during my lovely stay!

One of the best places in SEA. No crowded.

One of the best places in SEA. No crowded. Excellent value for money. Open with wide roads. Great transportation. And then the ancient temples like Angkor Wat and many others. Finally, the icing in the cake are the people - so down to earth, welcoming and polite. They just won our hearts everywhere. We are surely coming back to Siam Reap whenever possible. In fact, we will just go to Siam Reap and avoid Phnom Penh which has nothing much to offer. Oh yes, the new airport is super quality, cozy and excellent.

Travelling to Siem Reap during the wet season is great if you can plan a longer stay. The land is lush and green. It rains mostly in the afternoon and for only 1-2 hours. Low season means lower prices. Angkor archaeological sites are less crowded. Enough indoor activities for wet-weather like visits to APOPO, Lotus farm, Kun khmer gym session, museums, shopping etc.

I love Siem Reap so much I have come back time and time again. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and makes you feel at home. I recommend walking along the river and grabbing a bite to eat from one of the vendors. Also try Tevy's restaurant you won't be disappointed. Everything is cooked fresh to order, so you have to wait a bit but its so worth it.

Siem Reap is wonderful: a unique place and one of the most special in the world. It has plenty of bars and restaurants and a lovely riverside area. (The variety and quality of food is among the best I’ve experienced in Southeast Asia) It’s also very bike-friendly, with many dedicated cycle lanes (one extending pretty well all the way to Angkor Wat.) The Angkor Wat archeological park is amazing. If you have time, my advice is to go for the seven-day pass valid for a month. That way, you can spend a day or half day at Angkor, break it up with time in Siem Reap, and instead of suffering “temple-fatigue,” from trying to see too much in too short a time, really appreciate how special the place is. And, for me, the best way to see it is by bicycle. The terrain is flat. The roads are (mostly) good and quiet, and there are many cycle lanes. There’s plenty of cycle hire places in the area. I used Bayon MTB Project. The man who runs it is real bike enthusiast and is always working on maintaining the machines, which, in consequence are in very good condition. If, while in some remote part of Angkor (or anywhere else) you should have a puncture or other problem with your bike, he’ll come to you to fix things. He and his wife also do a lot of work with children in the area. Basically, then, good people, good bikes, good prices and great service.

I love nature / gardens so really enjoyed what was on offer around Siem Reap. Highlights were the Botanical Gardens, Butterfly Paradise, Angkor Silk Farm, walking along the river, tuk tuk rides into the countryside. Morning tea at old Raffles Hotel was also lovely, they have lovely garden and flower arrangements inside.

Siem Reap is an ideal place for those who are interested in culture, history and architecture. Even though the temples are in ruins they are magnificent. Angkor Wat is not the only important attractions. There are several equally interesting and fascinating temples in the viscinity of Siem Reap.

I loved my stay. Me and friends came to Siem Reap just for two nights over the weekend. The hotel is clean. Fruit on arrival & perfect location. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We got the tour TukTuk from the hotel service - which was super good value split between our group of 3! The room was clean, with comfy beds & a nice bathroom. Loved the vibe of the hotel and a nice little pool on the roof! Overall 100% recommended this as a cheap but luxury place to stay

This hotel and their service were our most magnificent place in Cambodia. The hotel are is stunning, quite but for Siem Reap just perfect. The rooms are clean, comfortable and with great equipment. The pool and breakfast speak for themselves and the warm greetings and overall caretakers experience made our stay a 12/10. We want to recommend this place to anyone, who is looking for a small luxury hotel with affordable prices. Well done, Sakmut Team, we will be back!

Probably one of the best places to stay in Siem Reap, but in a more trendy hostel/hotel place rather than a traditional and expensive hotel. Everything is very new and very nice. It's a short walk or TukTuk ride to the busy part of town near Pub Street and the Old Market. I highly recommend you do the cooking classes and ATV tours while in town too but you might have to organise them yourself.
