New home with spacious rooms. Nice views. Modern. Comfortable layout. A wonderful home! Spacious rooms. Windows that open easily! Washer machine is splendid. Location is a ten minute walk from the trailhead of an outstanding hike called Nonstinden and Ballstadheia. Ballstad initially looked to us like a sleepy village but it’s a gem with an excellent location for the outdoors.

It was much bigger than I had anticipated, offering spacious and comfortable accommodations that made me feel right at home. The attention to detail in the design and decor was impressive, blending seamlessly with the breathtaking surroundings. It truly felt like a cozy oasis nestled amidst the stunning natural wonders of the Lofoten Islands. However, what truly set this place apart was the warmth and hospitality of the hosts. From the very first greeting, they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was unforgettable. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and passionate about sharing their love for the Lofoten Islands. Their local insights and recommendations made my trip even more special, allowing me to explore hidden spots and experience authentic Lofoten culture. But it was the views that stole the show. "Spectacular" doesn't even begin to describe the vistas that greeted me each morning. Imagine waking up to the sight of majestic snow-capped peaks, mirrored in crystal-clear fjords that sparkled like diamonds.     Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by...

    Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

    Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands.

    Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands. We were able to take day trips to the north and south without having to relocate. The location outside of Leknes had easy access to the main road, gas and restaurants if not eating at our hotel - Hattvika Lodge.

    There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view...

    There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to. Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

    Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

    The location is great for hikes, Leknes is close-by even with a bus so lots of connections can be made to other parts of Lofoten, and Ballstad is a nice and quiet town. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils and tools, and spacious, the fridge and cabinets provide ample place to store stuff, and the coffee machine was great. The views are amazing from both our room's windows and the common area's windows. Also, the blinds worked well on our windows to keep the light out - a first for us in Lofoten.

    Very nice place lose to and with nice view (in our case) on Ballstad fishing harbour. Cabins small but in our case (the one closest to port for five persons) sufficient. Bathroom floor heated. Heating room with wood highly recommended, wood has to be purchased. Of course, noisy. Let the owner show you the „African cabin“😀 and let him tell some stories. Lower price than many other cabins.

    Nice little hotel right on the water. Our room was small but had very comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. A plus was that just outside the room there was a small kitchen which was great for preparing breakfast by ourselves. The hotel is in a very quiet area and is in the perfect location for exploring the surroundings.
