New home with spacious rooms. Nice views. Modern. Comfortable layout. A wonderful home! Spacious rooms. Windows that open easily! Washer machine is splendid. Location is a ten minute walk from the trailhead of an outstanding hike called Nonstinden and Ballstadheia. Ballstad initially looked to us like a sleepy village but it’s a gem with an excellent location for the outdoors.

It was much bigger than I had anticipated, offering spacious and comfortable accommodations that made me feel right at home. The attention to detail in the design and decor was impressive, blending seamlessly with the breathtaking surroundings. It truly felt like a cozy oasis nestled amidst the stunning natural wonders of the Lofoten Islands. However, what truly set this place apart was the warmth and hospitality of the hosts. From the very first greeting, they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was unforgettable. They were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and passionate about sharing their love for the Lofoten Islands. Their local insights and recommendations made my trip even more special, allowing me to explore hidden spots and experience authentic Lofoten culture. But it was the views that stole the show. "Spectacular" doesn't even begin to describe the vistas that greeted me each morning. Imagine waking up to the sight of majestic snow-capped peaks, mirrored in crystal-clear fjords that sparkled like diamonds. The ever-changing colors of the sky during sunrise and sunset were nothing short of magical, painting the landscape with a palette of hues that left me in awe.     Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by...

    Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

    Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands.

    Perfect location in the center of the Lofoten Islands. We were able to take day trips to the north and south without having to relocate. The location outside of Leknes had easy access to the main road, gas and restaurants if not eating at our hotel - Hattvika Lodge.

    There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view...

    There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to. Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

    Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

    The staff at this hotel is incredibly friendly, caring, and attentive to every request. They truly go out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and taken care of. The lodges are absolutely fantastic. Sitting by the large windows, reading a book while taking in the stunning view, was one of the most relaxing and memorable experiences I’ve had. The peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings make it the perfect place to unwind. Well done to the team—an unforgettable stay!

    The robru was extremely well equipped. Everything you needed seemed to be there. The view across the water was lovely whether from the outside patio or from the rooms that looked that direction. Ballstad is a lovely village to be based in as it's a working environment, with normal life going on around you. It also has a small supermarket, cafe, and a choice of good restaurants. We highly recommend!
