Jose and Maria were wonderful hosts! They were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. The location was perfect for exploring the island, and the bed was comfortable. The apartment was also extremely clean. To make our arrival even more special, they had put together a beautiful welcome gift of local island items and recommended some great restaurants. We would definitely come back and stay in the future.

    We wanted an authentic, non-touristy area to base ourselves. That’s Ribeira Grande. Pretty town with all amenities (grocery, laundry, museums), gorgeous town square and walkability. Nice access to rest of island for hikes. Friendly locals. Chocolatino, Tukatula, O Canadiano, Pacheco, casa de Pasto Flor-all great restaurants for varying appetites. Azores Brewing-excellent beer and fun vibe.

    Ribeira Grande was accessible to drive everywhere on Sao Miguel; a 20 minute drive to the airport, Wonderful little restaurant Mare Nostre on the water was a great find; close to the Continente and Pingo Doce for groceries.

    We loved the penthouse Monte Azul in Ribeira Grande.

    We loved the penthouse Monte Azul in Ribeira Grande. The location was easy to find, there was always street parking available. The apartment was beautifully equipped and overlooked the shoreline. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the waves and the sunset. We were able to walk to several restaurants in the area, and getting there from Ponta Delgada was roughly 25 minutes.

    The staff was very attentive and sincere.

    The staff was very attentive and sincere. We had a delicious breakfast at the Resort daily. The beach was an integral part of a relaxing stay. Once you become accustomed to a round-about, you'll be fine driving. The city of Ribeira Grande is very walkable too.

    Lots of hiking around, great beaches, nice local restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Relatively good public transport to get around. Often cheaper to take taxi to get around than renting a car. In total we spent 4 weeks on the Azores and had a rental car for 4 days, this was one too much. Taxi is great for getting almost everywhere. Public transport is somehow good.

    Practical y comfortable apartment very well located in Ribeira Grande, in a very calm neighborhood, walking distance both from the city center and Santa Barbara beach. The apartment is very bright and spacious. Jaime allowed us to check-in earlier than the official time and has been responsive during our stay.

    Beautiful hotel with a fabulous pool. You also have a shared kitchen if you want to eat in and a lovely lounge to hang out in and play cards or have a drink. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and wish it had been longer. Santa Barbara beach is a great place to visit.
