We loved the location. It was near all of the three major art museums as well as a lot of little boutique shops. We could stay away from or visit heavy tourist areas as we wished. It also had a lot of little extras that other hotels did not have -- like bathroom scales and snacks during the afternoons. We actually never used the metro during our four nights in Madrid as everything we wanted to see was in walking distance.

Very clean. Although it was central it was very quiet in the room (I faced the main street). The windows are double insulated so you can barely hear the streets. The balconies are also beautiful on a summer evening. It is in a lovely old building on the second floor. They have luggage storage for before check in and after check out.

Very attentive, although there are no elevators in the building they immediately came out to help me with my bag(and the climb is worth it!). The room was SO nicely decorated, with high windows and curtains. There was also a fridge.
