Really enjoyed doing the Gordon River Heritage Cruise, it was informative and so much wonderful things you wouldn't get to see if you didn't do it. The Captain and staff were lovely and it was a really relaxing day. Highly recommend visiting the Huon Pine Historic Mill and shops as well. The town itself is very small and seems to be run mostly by a few families. So not a lot of restaurant or cafe options. I found the Strahan Village buffet restaurant 42 Degrees that was touted as the gourmet option in town as very average for the price.

Strahan is worth visiting for the Gordon River Cruise and the play, The Ship That Never Was. There is a small nature walk to a small waterfall that is an easy walk. There is a small beach just outside of town as well. Dining options are limited, suggest View 42 buffet, reservations required.

Strahan was a quaint little town with not an awful lot to see and do, but what there is, is worth the visit. We had only the one full day in Strahan - for the river cruise (stayed in town for 2 nights): if we had the time again, we’d allow a second day for local sight-seeing and the train ride. We were exceptionally fortunate with the weather, making the day cruise truly memorable, including some absolutely beautiful scenery and a fascinating tour of the convict settlement on Sarah Island. Unfortunately, the seafood buffet at ‘View 42 Degrees’ was fully booked out, so we’d advise phoning ahead for that! We weren’t entirely sure if we’d visit Strahan as part of our Tasmania trip as it was a little ‘out of our way’: we are now glad that we made the effort!

We loved everything we did in Strahan - from staying in the King Suite in the Wilderness Lodge, to the World Heritage Cruise on the Gordon River, The Ship That Never Was play, Hogarth Falls and sunsets over the water on Beach Rd. The locals were fanatastic too - do yourself a favour and go there !

Location was amazing and easy to find. So close to the beach. Collect keys from Motel Strahan - so easy. Comfortable beds. I travelled with a couple and having 2 bathrooms was a welcomed bonus. Small Hand sanitizer bottles in all rooms was a lovely touch. Close to take away shops and also to the main street. Absolutely loved our time there and will certainly come back!

This is a great place to stay, and I would stay again if I ever visit Strahan again. I had a whole little house to myself. It was very comfortable and clean. The location was great, with easy access to all areas of Strahan. I highly recommend Tramway cottage for anyone looking for somewhere to stay. The washer and dryer was a huge bonus also.

The king bed was extremely comfortable, nice big spacious shower with rainhead. Sheilagh was very friendly and helpful couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. Nice touches of chocolates and port in your room great for a nippy Tasmanian evening. Would definitely recommend staying here in Strahan.

Super cool, the accommodation is located in a variety of cottages along main street. They were all very cute. Staff were lovely at check in and check out. Bed was really comfy and we enjoyed the spa. Location was great as everything in Strahan was close by and our view was the river.

Great location in the park and in the township of Strahan. There is a little shop across the road with a laundry which is very handy. There is also a bottleshop there too! The cabins were positioned well and were private. We were able to take our little dog which was great too.

Location is great and quiet. The surrounding holiday houses are very poor constructed and maintained. The whole area looks like a cheap camp site next to the water. Breakfast is very poor. only opened half pack of bread, some cereal, honey and jam, no other things at all.

The staff were excellent at Franklin Manor. It was handy to the township and waterfront, meaning that we could walk to the cruise we booked. Strahan has limited parking and what there is costs $1 per hour. A limited breakfast is included in the charge at the Manor.

The cabins were clean and beds comfortable with nice quality linen. The Shop out the from was very handy for a easy quick dinner. Location is great, not to far from the water front for tours or the beach. Park was very quiet at night.

The cabins are larger than a standard hotel room. Very comfortable with 3 zones in an open plan . Kitchen/dinning, lounge / TV and bedroom, a large spacious bathroom takes up a quarter of the floor plan. Heating worked well.
