Jeanette and Paul are two wonderful people who will make you feel right at home. The room feels very private, it has an attached space with lounge chairs and a fridge with complimentary drinks and snacks, the bed is very comfortable, and everything is spotlessly clean. The breakfast with fresh fruits, yoghurt, and bread is the cherry on top. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

I booked with Avonlea because the rooms had an adjoining ensuite. The rooms were modest but perfect for my needs and Trudy-Ann is to be complimented for the cleanliness of them. Furthermore, she made me very welcome.
Small agricultural town, only an hour and fifteen minutes...
Small agricultural town, only an hour and fifteen minutes from Perth. Quaint old buildings from the late 1890's and early 1900's. Star gazing as light pollution is minimal. Lovely to walk around the old town and not feel rushed. Very quiet no loud music, pubs trucks or noisy street traffic. Lots of birds to keep you amused and plenty of short or long walks in the lightly treed bush land.
Information Centre ladies give you good tips on things to have a look at. Motor car museum is a good starting point.

A beautiful place to stay at the beginning of Spring.
A beautiful place to stay at the beginning of Spring. Lots of historical buildings to see, lovely gardens and the river is flowing well. The York museum is well worth a visit. The Salvos have a great jumble sale, items are very cheap and good quality - worth the visit just for this! And you get free entertainment at the same time!

There are little shops and interesting places to visit in the town centre and its surrounds. I enjoyed my 2 days there. That was enough time for me. I suggest planning your day and looking at the opening hours of the places you want to visit as almost everything closes by 5pm. I suggest visiting the Old Flour Mill which has a cafe and an interesting collection of art and vintage items for sale. The old gaol is also worth a visit.

Lovely gardens and decor.
My son loved being able to feed the animals and explore. The log fire kept the whole house warm and cosy and the facilities had everything we needed. Our hosts were friendly and kind even loaning us a double adapter to plug our baby monitor in. Close to Beverley and York except they were mostly closed the days we were there.
A very friendly place to stay. Stacy was very helpful and stayed around to accommodate my later-than-expected arrival time.
