This was my 40th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Bridge Hotel on our honeymoon.The hotel has been modernized but the front entrance looks the same. It has a special place in our hearts. Food was great. The bathroom and room renovations are really wonderful. It was well worth the return trip.

The immediate area is perfect for walking, with the shores of Buttermere and Crummock Water less than a mile away. Whinlatter Forest Visitor Center is only 3 miles away, featuring the Go Ape outdoor activity park. If you are looking to escape the usual distractions of everyday life while on holiday then look no further than the Bridge Hotel in Buttermere. Our bedrooms have no televisions, no radios or mobile phone signal. In fact, nothing to distract you from our spectacular natural surroundings.
