The location was incredible, just to look out of the window and the sea being right there was very special. There are plenty of amenities (Co-op, food places) nearby, the beach (the most incredible shell-y beach) was just a few feet away and access to the airport, Edinburgh, Musselburgh and all around was very easy. The town itself felt very safe, we were happy walking about with our children late into the evening (which our eldest really enjoyed as we don't get to do that at home). The property itself was very comfortable with everything that we needed to enjoy our stay, and the view from the master bedroom and the kitchen were incredible.

Dating back to 1909, this cosy 2 bedroom fisherman's flat with the most amazing far-reaching sea views is perfect for using as a base to explore East Lothian and Edinburgh. Similar to many other small fishing villages on the east coast of Scotland, fishing boats still work out of the harbour and can often been seen bringing back the catch from the windows of the flat. Restaurants, pubs, and a supermarket are all within walking distance and buses regularly go into Edinburgh from the village.
Hi Thank you for visiting our listing and we hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you to the property. On arrival you will be met by our co-host who will show you around and hand over the keys.
Cockenzie and neighbouring village Port Seton have pretty much joined together into 1 village with 2 harbours. They lie on the Firth of Forth about 3 miles east of Edinburg. Fishing is still an important part of Cockenzie and an excellent fishmonger selling the local catch can be found only a short walk away as well as fish and chip shops. The flat lies just of the stone beach an you can walk along the coast line in both directions. The pretty working harbours are ideal for walking around to blow the cobwebs away and if its raining, you can call into Cockenzie House and Garden, a 17th century mansion which houses a gift shop and cafe and often art exhibitions. Within walking distance there is a supermarket, pubs selling a decent standard of food, gift shops and a newsagent
