Great location, lovely hosts, everything you need in the room and the bonus of a garden to sit in, pet friendly too, we had a chilled couple of days and really enjoyed our time there, only five minutes walk to the center of the village.

Peaceful and quiet location with very friendly hosts who were on hand if we needed any help with anything. Clean and tidy plus it was nice and warm with the heater on. Couldn't fault the cabin at all.

Cosy, comfortable room with genuine charm and character.
Breakfast host was a lovely man who made us feel very welcome.
Just 15 minutes drive from central Chester, Village Hotel Chester St David's features a health and fitness club and a choice of dining options and modern and comfortable rooms.
We didn’t like anything about our stay. I booked a deluxe room and was fobbed off with a tiny room which was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The shower dripped really loudly. We couldn’t control the radiators so the room was boiling. We did get moved to a room which was what I had booked originally in the end but again it was filthy and crawling with bugs. The carpets and walls were stained with something. The shower or tv didn’t work, we had no toiletries in the room and had to ask for toilet roll. The entire place looks like it is just a hostel for anybody, there were random people round about the hotel who were generally weird and didn’t seem like guests at all. There’s no facilities at the hotel even though it states online that the renovations are complete, there’s no bar or restaurant or amenities so there’s nowhere to eat or drink. Overall the stay was awful and we even had to phone booking.com to help us get back into the place at the night time because no info was given when we checked in and there is never anybody at the reception to answer our question. I definitely wouldn’t be staying there here again. The place is absolutely disgusting in terms of cleanliness.

We didn't spend much time in Mold itself but it was a convenient centre from which to explore Chester and N. Wales. It took a while to work out the best routes and some road directions were initially confusing but we managed OK. The Park and Ride facility for Chester was convenient and easy. Much better that driving round looking for parking.

Our stay was some 8 miles away from Mold in Afonwen. Mold is a small town with a great little market on Saturdays. Afonwen is a beautiful area with mountains, a nature reserve and a lake. A bird watchers paradise and great for walking and access to North Wales beaches.

Mold had charity shops and a few Quiet Pubs like a Wetherspoons But was turned away from the Red Lion Pub because was not a local & was not happy about that.
The nearest hotel was not walking distance into Mold town as the Booking site had led me to believe But there was a Bus service into Mold and to Chester.
Photographs in descriptions can be deceiving, well in this case they are absolutely a true representation of a great place to stay, fantastic. Right in heart of the town, I was 150 yards away from the place I was working at on Friday morning, and loads of places to eat and a few nice pubs too. Free parking available in the Mews was a bonus as well. The one-bedroomed flat is not just perfect for a one night stay (like mine), but much longer too, giving you easy reach of Chester, Wrexham and the North Wales attractions. Thank you Gareth.
The hotel is beautiful... and has recently undergone a whole refurbishment, so was like new. The bed was super comfy, the decor tranquil and the staff extremely friendly and helpful.
They upgraded us to their honeymoon suite after knowing we'd recently got married... what an unbelievable room. Huge, elegant, with views over the gardens, a white ornate four poster bed, roll top bath, double shower and dressing room. It was stunning. And we can't thank Highfield Hall enough for their hospitality.
It's a nice place to stay, staff are very friendly, food is great and reasonable prices for meals and drinks and it isn't far to Chester, Liverpool and other attractions, probably the furthest being Llandudno which is about 50 miles away. Bus stops for Mold and Chester only about 100 yards away from the hotel entrance. At present bus no 4 and X4 take you to Mold and Chester, but be careful travelling back X 4 goes straight Mold and you'd need to catch the 4 (to Chester) to pass near the hotel
Very quirky accommodation. Lovely added touch of small fridge with fresh milk and water. Also a microwave and plates bowls, cutlery, but we had booked for evening meal in the restaurant so didn't need them. Excellent service from the welcoming staff, plenty of choices on the menu. Good quality ingredients. Very enjoyable.
Breakfast next day was of a similar high standard.
Peaceful location, but only a short drive from the A55. I was attending a concert at the Tivoli in Buckley in the evening, and again it was only a few minutes drive away.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Food and drinks in the bar were good. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The location was great. There was no food available due to the ongoing refurbishment. This might have been disappointing to some travellers but I just wanted to curl up in my room. The room was comfy, the hotel retains many interesting period pieces and a fantastic central staircase and entrance way. I would stay there again.
Plas Hafod was an excellent hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room that we were given the “French Room” was gorgeous. The food in the restaurant was of a very good standard and the breakfast was excellent. All in all a great location and weekend stay !!!
We had a lovely stay at Hafan Deg. We were warmly recieved upon arrival and our room was very cute and comfortable with access to the garden! The morning breakfast was nice as well. I'd definitely recommend Hafan Deg to anyone traveling through Northern Wales.
Horrific experience.
Smelly hotel. Refurbishment going on. Couldn't drive in. No milk . Sleeping on cheap beds with no comfort.
The worst experience ever. TV 📺 didn't work.
Location perfect for my needs. Hotel was beautiful, room decent size, with a nice touch of history. Big bonus of onw 'front-door directly to patio (if weather was better).
Great location within the grounds of the main farmhouse, but set up to provide plenty of privacy. Very clean, comfortable accommodation with the added bonus of a hot tub.
The staff were terrific. There seemed to be nothing they wouldn’t do for our comfort. We’re so glad we DID NOT stay at a name brand hotel. This was far better.
