Comfortable bed, great view, and can walk to the restaurant next door for dinner or drinks without needing to drive. It was a nice surprise to have a mini frig that wasn’t in the listing. Very clean.

The cabin was great with beautiful views. It had everything that we needed, including shampoo, soap, hairdryer, and coffee for the first night. The apartment was very clean and we had it all to ourselves which we loved! Breakfast was really good as well.

It was an adorable property close to small town but off the beaten path. The hosts were amazing and very friendly. Major plus side they had mini ponies and a donkey you could pet right outside main cottage window!

Good breakfast, apartment room. The host offered transport to the Great Glen Way next morning, as the location is several km from Spean Bridge and the Great Glen Way. We really enjoyed the stay.
Loved the place.
Found the pot holes quite unbelievable.
Loved the place.
Found the pot holes quite unbelievable. It’s a country wide problem I know, but I’ve never seen so many dangerous pot holes on the roads. Sadly we got Quite a big bill for the one we went over.

The views are simply stunning and beautiful.
The views are simply stunning and beautiful.
Our room overlooked the loch simply stunning 😊
Would be nice to have had the property lit up for night travellers new to the area and location.
Also would be lovely to meet the carers of the lodge too so face to face communication is readily avaliable for the lodge users.
If staying with family be aware of noise from other people around the house as it can feel loud due to the lodge being small.
Apart from that free parking and beautiful location of rural Scotland 😊

Great location, very friendly staff, clean and comfortable...
Great location, very friendly staff, clean and comfortable hotel.
There s a cosy well stocked bar, a restaurant overlooking the loch and excellent service.
The food is good with an Indian style although local dishes and produce are also well featured. The buffet breakfast is very good and will set you up for the day. The Hotel also offers guests without their own transport a drop off and collect service in the local area allowing one way walks to be planned.
Self contained apartments are also available on site as is a Spa treatment service which my wife thoroughly recommends.
This is one of three in the chain of Black Sheep hotels in the Highlands.

Re - Osprey Suite, Letterfinlay House Lodge.
Arrival -
Re - Osprey Suite, Letterfinlay House Lodge.
Arrival -
On arrival we found the accommodation to be filthy and not Covid prepared. See pics of kitchen and sitting room. The deck furniture was rusty and not fit for use. The deck table had smear of sticky clear liquid on its surface. We were informed that complimentary wine was available for us - no complimentary wine was available for us.
The accommodation claims “Extra health & safety measures” re Coronavirus. This is not apparent and doesn’t exist.
Communication -
We called the owner to make complaint re above within the hour of arrival. I informed him of the shocking presentation. His manner was initially defensive and then, very quickly, aggressive and unpleasant. He put the phone down on me, made no further offer of explanation or support and left my partner completely traumatised. We immediately left the property after the call.
Verdict -
Utterly appalling presentation of holiday accommodation and customer service - especially with prevalence of Covid and expected standards of hygiene. The owner has refused to reimburse our holiday fee - £470. We are liaising with booking.com and external tourism related advisors to recover our costs with added compensation for additional expenses and trauma that we incurred.

This is a great base for exploring the surrounding area...
This is a great base for exploring the surrounding area either by foot or car with Fort William about 10 miles to the South. That is if you can draw yourself away from the hotel's relaxing atmosphere and stunning views!
Booked this last minute and surprised there was a vacancy for 1 night. We had the smaller room with no view of the loch but it was spacious, clean and more facilities than we expected...tea, coffee etc but also breakfast bars and porridge pots and a fridge. The owner was very helpful when I phoned to make a table reservation not knowing the hotel next door is not connected to the lodge. He gave me their contact details and explained how to access the lodge. We had a lovely meal in whispering pines next door.
view of loch & outdoor seating deck and bar were great! Pizza outside was delicious and nice hot treat when so cold. loved Scottish decor inside. view from restaurant also great. bar area is what you’d expect from Scottish hotel. All service was polite and helpful. food was delicious. Hotel room was gorgeous with Scottish theme. bed comfortable. loved the heated floors in bathroom when so cold outside. cookies with in room tea were delicious and helpful after day of site seeing.
Great terrace overlooking Loch Lochy, stunning views from the bed and room.
WiFi worked without issues, facilities were clean and well up kept.
We had porridge pots and cereal bars daily topped up giving us a small breakfast to start the day.
Close to Fort Williams and supermarkets and restaurants.
Great to use as a base to explore Inverness, Loch Ness, cairngorms and the nevis range.
Has good parking just in front of room.
If you want a 5 * luxury spa with bistro menu then this is not the place for you
If you want to be treated like a guest and not a room number by people who care , in fabulous surroundings then stay here.
These places are rare to find, where time has paused and quality has been maintained.
The food is outstanding and service exceptional.
Your own loch access and plenty to do in the area.
No wonder guests return
I absolutely loved our stay here! It’s a quaint, even quirky, hotel run by mother and son team, Christian and Ian. The food was exceptional, the service and welcome superb. Our room was comfortable, perfectly clean, and decorated, like the rest of the hotel, with vintage ‘collectibles’. Maybe not to your taste if you are looking for a sharp, modern hotel, but for us, it really delivered. Will definitely return.
Letterfinlay Lodge is exceptional!! AMAZING location, beautiful view, and spacious. We've been in 5 other hotels during our vacation and this is hands down THE BEST!! If you can get the Osprey Suite... heavenly!!! Smaxi was super helpful. Just a wonderful experience that we would do again BUT stay longer next time!!
Fantastic food, beautiful rooms, friendly staff, lovely view over Loch Lochy. Breakfast ordered the night before and cooked to order, dinner menu offered at breakfast so you could choose whether to eat in that evening and you could look forward to it all day!
Our bathroom had an enormous bath
What an amazing hotel. We booked it last minute and because the price was so reasonable we didn’t expect it to be so good. Staff were lovely as was the room and the breakfast. The location was beautiful. Even had its own private beach. Will definitely return.
Such a beautiful picturesque location! There is a private beach for guests with such a serene view you will not want to leave. the bar and restaurant are also top notch. multiple different types of stays with rooms, cabins, etc to fit anyones needs.
Breakfast was lovely. Evening meal was also very nice. Location was stunning, hotel was clean, lovely atmosphere in the bar area. Couldn’t use other facilities due to our check-in/out time but it was a lovely place.
Amazing location definitely worth the stay!
Next door there is a high end hotel for 500 a night so you get the same location for less than half the price .
Definitely recommend it !
Thank you for your hospitality!
Great location overlooking Loch Lochy.
Our room overlooking the Loch had superb views and a balcony.
It was well equipped; brill shower and lovely and warm and food for breakfast.
The hotel next door does meals.
Lovely family run hotel, we had one of the best meals here in quiet surroundings with an excellent view of the glen and loch lochy. The service was great and felt very welcoming.
The views across the Loch were spectacular.
The hotel is well situated for Fort William and other attractions.
The bed was comfortable and staff friendly and welcoming.
Awesome view from the hotel. But what is more awesome is that the property and rooms are spotless. I have never seen a hotel room so meticulously cleaned. Keep it up!
Views from the dining room were fabulous and access to a private beach was a bonus. The hotel was in a good location for exploring the Great Glen/Ben Nevis area.
