Great location - 10 minutes walk from station and very close to town center. Also in a relatively quiet part of the city. The room was large and clean and well appointed. It had a night light in the bathroom for safety. THANK YOU!

It was beautiful with lots of interesting history & it's got beautiful grounds which would be beautiful in the summer so can't wait to plan another trip to The George in the summer time. The room was very clean & had everything we needed. The only negative I have is we had to ask about information about meals etc but the staff were more than helpfulAAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Quiet town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Local recreation and sightseeing, major train depot. I had good weather while I was there, nearly everything you need is within walking distance of most hotels.

The staff at 119 are just lovely, so friendly and helpful. The boss is prepared to do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible, he really is a top man! The facilities are faultless, everywhere is clean and tidy. The kitchen has tea and coffee facilities, and can be used whenever needed, (obviously taking other guests into consideration) My partner and I have stayed here twice now and would not stay anywhere else, we have found somewhere that's comfortable friendly professional and above all else brilliant value for money. Interesting points ;- Lewis Caroll ( Alice in wonderland; through the looking glass). Not to far from James Herriot country. Filming of Numerous television programmes including Happy valley near by.

Lovely quiet setting and only a 30min walk from the town centre. The hotel is full of character and history. The staff at reception for very friendly and welcoming and I was checked in quickly. My room was immaculate. Very clean, comfy bed, nice en suite. I did have a drink at the bar and they had a good selection of drinks. I had a pint of beer which was £5 so a good price. No electricity from 4.30pm to 9.30pm. We would have eaten in the hotel but went elsewhere had to drive to Darlington. There was no recompense not even a free drink.
