We really liked the location (close to the sea and many bus stops to go to Edinburgh or around), the decoration of the room and the garden. Barbara was also very welcoming and available. Easy to collect the keys and ask questions.

The Coorie Inn is a cosy, self-contained apartment located right beside a beach at Joppa Portobello, Edinburgh’s seaside. We only share the front hallway. Please note that the sofa bed is a small double with a firm base. I have mattress toppers and a self inflating mattress if required. The separate private shower has a narrow door. There are 5 buses right beside the property which will get you to Princes St in 25 minutes. There are many restaurants and bars nearby and lots of activities; sailing, swimming, kayaking, beach volleyball, beach yoga etc. There are 3 beaches all within 10 minutes walk. Newhailes Country Estate (National Trust) is directly opposite the property which has a cafe, children’s play park and a monthly market. You are located on the John Muir Way which you can walk/cycle all the way to his birthplace in Dunbar.
My name is Barbara. I have lived in Edinburgh since I came down from the Highlands to study ay Edinburgh University. I have recently taken early retirement and have just started hosting in May 2022. I am very knowledgeable about all things Scottish - history, local knowledge, art, literature and culture and am happy to talk to you or even take you on a bespoke tour. I am a keen cook and will offer you a “Scottish Scran” dinner on one night of your stay (see sample menu). I will have minimal contact with guests, but am around on a daily basis. I have in depth knowledge of all things Scottish and local and am very happy to talk to guests about anything. There is also a wide selection of history, art and guide books in The Coorie In.
