Loved the quintessential old Briish Inn and pub and the lovely garden even though it rained, and we could not enjoy sitting outside.

It's set in a beautiful part of the world and a really pleasant village.
The staff were amazing - very friendly.
The rooms were really clean indeed and freshened each day.
You must try the Norfolk Adder cider if you like cider. It's very nice indeed from the draught.
Food was fantastic. Freshly cooked and served on hot plates which ch is not something you get everywhere and mak s w difference.
I will return for sure whenever I am in the area.

After a bit of meandering (on foot) to find the place, I was pleasantly surprised. It is an old building (Tudor?) but the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the cotton linens soft, there were even robe and slippers in the room. The breakfast was good, the lady who greeted me and served breakfast was friendly and welcoming. Overall it was a great one night stay.

We found several places of interest to visit within easy walking distance- e.g. priory, castle hill, duleep singh statue, dads army museum all with free entry. If you particularly wanted to visit Dads Army museum though check opening days/times in advance as quite limited. You need to be able bodied if you want to go up the castle hill-it's very tall and need to climb steps. Sit down eating out places limited although lots of take aways. Food was good at the local Wetherspoons-Red Lion-and available hours good. High street a bit run down-not for shopping fans. You would probably only need a couple of days to see everything but we enjoyed our visit.

We walked along the river bank to the town in the evening. There were some interesting buildings and we would have liked to visit the Burrel Museum but it is only open on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
On the way to the hotel we had a Sunday Lunch (3pm) at the Black Horse Thursford which we would highly recommend we hadn’t booked but they accommodated us and although very busy were very friendly and accommodating.

Great location and many places of interest.
Great location and many places of interest.
The pedestrian area was good to see and visit, Dads Army museum was excellent and the town trail worth doing, if only in part.
Never saw a single policeman over 3-days in the town central area. Definitely needed: in evenings, groups of youngsters, 9many with eastern European accents) being youngsters (noisy, kicking plastic bottles of water around, misbehaving) Looked like a drug seller beside The Bell Hotel (?) Group of 6/7 eastern European men drink cans
of larger near the supermarket and church entrance on King Street. A problem that will keep tourists away, needs sorting !
Glad we made the visit.

There's more to do in Thetford than you'd think!
There's more to do in Thetford than you'd think! It is oozing with history! It has an impressive motte & bailey castle mound with 89 steps to the top, a massive ruined Priory, the Dad's Army Museum (watch out! Only open on Saturdays!!), the Charles Burrell traction engine museum, the Ancient house museum (£5.70 adult ticket), and loads of stunning riverside walks leading one way to a nature reserve and the other Thetford Forest. I was amazed and delighted to see lots of small deer roaming around in many of the public parkland areas. There are plenty of pubs (including 'spoons) and cafes to eat at, charity shops if you like treasure-hunting, and quirky local shops. The lady in the Tourist Info shop in the high street was friendly and informative. We travelled to Thetford by train and had no problems getting to all the places of interest. I would definitely recommend!

Thetford Town was a mixture of old and new,,some places were quite run down. It had snowed when we was there, week before Xmas so all along the river looked very pretty and we enjoyed a river walk. Think it would be nice to visit in summer.
There was everything I expected from the house. We used oven for our dinner and cooked pizza 👌🍕 there is enough of cutlery, plates and souse pans.
Aldi and Tesco are close to house. I am impressed by the foot path to Tesco. No cars and nothing is bothering you to enjoy your walk in the forest on the way to the Tesco.
Clean and nice bathroom with enough quantity of towels. TV is in each room. New and nice beds with clean bedding. Kettle was not new.
My family took a spur of the moment trip to Thetford. We happened upon this lovely B&B! It was super affordable, right in the middle of the beautiful village, and the owner/operator family was incredibly welcoming! Our room was fantastic and we were very pleased by what we got for the price we paid! Breakfast was lovely, as well! We definitely recommend and will be returning, should we find ourselves in Thetford, again!
Very nice hotel and owners/managers. A welcoming and friendly bar., cheap prices compared to London. We were running a charity event at Snetterton race course. We had to be there early on Sunday morning as the gates opened. We were able to get a wonderful full English breakfast at 6.30am. The rooms are small but everything is clean and of good quality. We will certainly stay there again when we next visit Snetterton.
The property was in a great location to visit family living in the area. We were able to host visitors, prepare several meals, and entertain our visitors. Having laundry facilities on-site was great as we had been traveling for over a week before arriving and it was to freshen up some of our clothes. The hosts has left us a small welcome basket which provided us with items to make our first breakfast during our stay.
Thank you for the gift of your place in Thetford where we have dear friends we have visited many times. We’ve stayed at several establishments but your historic spot is one we loved the most. I shall tell my students about it this fall. Warm wishes. We are based at an Airbnb in Isleworth for a month. Wish we could leave you a review but our dear friend booked your place on our behalf. Will return.
Location was walking distance from the cafes and restaurants on King Street. I was only 5 minutes from work. The apartment looked like it was built last year. Assigned off-street parking made it easy to park and safe for my car. I only hope the property is available next time I'm in Thetford. Host made sure I knew where to park and get the keys. It really felt like a home away from home.
This is the nicest place we have stayed in England. The accommodation was beautiful.
Piers the owner was wonderful, helpful , friendly and very entertaining.
The location was peaceful and great for walking with our whippet Darwin.Lots of wild 🦌 and hares .Also pretty central to visit both Norfolk and Suffolk coastline.
Would highly recommend a stay here.
Thank you for having us xx
The amazing location, the link to Dad's Army, surely is a massive opportunity missed by Greene King to have a themed hotel which would attract tourists from all over the uk.
They seem to have a penchant for running their pub's and inn's into early grave's. Still an enjoyable stay, but could do so much better.
Hotel is decoratively a bit tired but the staff were wonderful and the location great, parking can be tight, liked being able to see my vehicle from my room when I could get in the small area near reception. Breakfast selection was ok and again staff very friendly and helpful
Location was perfect as we had a trip to Go Ape, Thetford forest, only 15min drive
Walking distance to pubs, shops and restaurants too
The host was amazing, water, tea, coffee, milk, toothbrush, cotton buds etc, anything you may have forgot to pack was provided
Cosy, clean and comfortable house in a superb location for Thetford. It is very well equipped. It's on a quiet street yet just a couple of minutes walk to the centre. There are a couple of free car parks also just two minutes walk away.
The breakfast was excellent. The farm is located in a very small village, a short distance from Thetford. It was very restful yet fairly central to reach Bury St. Edmund, other inland places of interest and also the east coast.
A warm welcome on arrival. Ideally located with beautifully appointed bedrooms and communal area.. Relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed the homemade conserves and delicious fresh bread.
Lovely accommodation to have a chilled break whilst visiting extended family in Norfolk and Suffolk, we also took the opportunity to visit one of our favourite cities, Cambridge.
The house has everything one might need. It's in a quiet but central place in Thetford. It was very clean and easy to access. Close to the main street and all the shops.
The location was near shopping and historical buildings (Thetford Priory). The apartment was comfortable for our family of four, and it has a full kitchen and washer.
