We loved our large and sunny room, and the gardens are a real bonus. The friendly gardener does a super job! The breakfasts were excellent, as were the ladies who worked at the breakfast. We enjoyed long lingering breakfasts with garden views every day.

Nice colonial city centre in the top of Chiapas mountains...
Nice colonial city centre in the top of Chiapas mountains with lots of options: nature, food, cultural and especially the coffee and chocolate.
Very nice place to chill and even spend a long time to enjoy the atmosphere, visit the surroundings and enjoying the nice weather.
I think this would be a great place to spend several weeks and work remotely.

This city has a lovely atmosphere and the people is friendly, the main plaza is awesome with many vendors offering their hand made clothes. It is amazing to lear how many days it takes to produce a single piece of clothing.. they truly work hard to earn their living.

San cris is such an amazing place.
San cris is such an amazing place. Not only the town but the surrounding areas too and especially the locals and local travellers were really kind and helpful. I met lots of lovely people, It felt really safe too but I just stayed within the touristy circuit.
I recommend doing all the tours, especially the one to Palenque ruins. It's a long one but totally worth it.
I should have stayed longer to do the jungle bit. Lots of people recommended me booking the tours once there but since I had just 6 days, I should have booked the whole circuit tour that takes you to the jungle for a few days.
The food was amazing. There wasn't enough times during the day to try everything and if you are a coffee lover, get lots of coffee too.

San Cristobal is a very easy place to stay for a week.
San Cristobal is a very easy place to stay for a week. It is a great base for trips and there is plenty to do in the town. Lots of food options. Past the main plaza there are streets that offer very good meal of the day options and whatever your food preference you can find it here. I particularly loved El Arcotete national park, you can get a collectivo here for Q15. Also the free textile musuem is worth a visit.

A beautiful but very large city located high up in the mountains (2200m) so be prepared for cool nights! Two long pedestrian streets lined with shops, bars, restaurants and market sellers as well as markets at either end. Great things to see and do in the environs of the city such as San Juan Chamula, Zinancantan, Caves of Rancho Nuevo, Canyon (closer to Tuxtla), etc. The amber museum in town was fascinating!

We had been told about a beautiful old small colonial town...
We had been told about a beautiful old small colonial town founded in 1528; it resulted to be the third city or town in the Chiapas state and definitely, larger that we thought.
However, the interesting area from a tourist perspective is the historic centre which is completely walkable.
You can walk the central boulevard from the Arco del Carmen (old city gate) all the way up to the Cathedral and visit a number of "templos" (old churches) each of one with an interesting history behind.
For the nature lovers, there is a number of tours from the town to beautiful spots.

I have loved so much staying at Na Bolom. Tons of charm, peace, kindness, culture, privacy. The staff is very helpful and friendly and they helped me out to book some tours and transfers. The kitchen is just like your grandma's. The decor is stunning and well studied. I had a hard time to leave the hotel for visiting as it has so many things inside: a garden, a big patio, restaurant, museum, library, cafe in front of the main entrance, shop and much more. Surely one of the best place I have ever been.
The staff was really nice, always smiling and welcoming.
This hotel has one of the best water pressure and warmth i've experienced in Mexico! This is totally a plus!!
The breakfast was simple and yet sufficient and delicious. It is served in a little kitchen and you can see the staff making it and serving it to you fresh.
They give you a bottle of water every morning which was very nice!
The hotel itself is very arty, beautiful. It has a mandarine tree and was lovely.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, ensuring daily room cleaning. The hotel radiates cleanliness with a charming, artistic, and spiritual ambiance. Its central location eliminates the need for taxis or buses. Billy, the owner, was delightful, offering helpful directions and city recommendations. I'm grateful for the early morning check-in, especially after a long trip to Chiapas. I eagerly anticipate staying there again in the future.
After staying at Hotel Bo for 4 days, we wanted to change the scene and moved to CasaLum. What a disappointment, the rooms are beyond basic with no lights / windows in many rooms and it is quite noisy with restaurant guest, loud music and staff (kitchen / cleaners) makes noise starting at 5.30AM until late at night. I had to ask several times to reduce the music to be able to sleep.
I love this hostel- it feels like family. the staff are so welcoming and fun and there are lots of activities like family dinner, quiz and invitations to nights out and dog shelters. It is in a fantastic location, comfortable safe, amazing wifi and delicious free breakfast- the best Hostal I have stayed in in Mexico so far!
It was a really wonderfoul time, space is so cool, rooms are so big, super conmfortable.
The prices are so good, kind of hotel service but is like home. They are cleanig the rooms everyday, wifi is the best.
We had the best accommodation in mexico.
They are offering tour services, we used the bike for free.
The best thing about this hostel is the staff! I only dealt with 2 male receptionists and both were absolutely amazing! So helpful, friendly, professional and pleasant. The beds were older as is the hotel but quite comfortable. Wifi worked at certain places. All in all good price for a short stay.
The hotel is very nice and cozy. We stayed in the apartment, which was way bigger than we expected and had an amazing porch and garden. The main street of San Cristóbal is easily walkable. Antonio is an amazing host. One of our best hotel experiences ever. Highly recommend it.
Eveything in this hotel is perfect. The staff was attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and variable. At the same time the hotel's decoration was amazing. It has a colonial and traditional Chiapas style. The room also had eveything we needed.
Everything was great! Good location, the nights were quiet, the staff was friendly, comfortable bed… and every day a nice hot shower with a lot of pressure. This hotel was one of the best on my trip through Mexico. I will come again.
Great location, close to everything and yet pretty quiet. The hotel is small and has only a few rooms which makes it very cozy and unique. It feels antique, bohemian, very Mexican in a sweet way and calm way.
The service was amazing and they tend to your every need. The food in the restaurant was great. The location was near Centro and it might be one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in in Mexico.
Sombra del Agua is my favourite hotel in San Cristobal. I come here once or twice a year to shop for my boutique and always stay at this hotel. It feels like total luxury for a great price!
The staff was friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty. The location of the hotel was perfect: just a few blocks from the main drag and quiet at night.
the hotel is very clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. hotel is close to downtown and restaurants. Tours offered at reasonable prices to historic destinations.
