The zoo is closed for renovations until sept 25. No point in going up for view if it is hazy. You will not see the mountains. Visit the Bahai temple on the outskirts of town if you want to see mountains. The temple is an amazing bit of architecture set in beautiful surrounds. The area around where the funicular is on ground level does not feel safe - Bella vista. We walked through the Bella vista area and it did have some amazing colourful and artistic murals. Just be in a group and be vigilant. One day this area will be amazing - you can already see the transformation/renovations happening.Guest review byJulieAustralia - 6.0

We took the funicular up and down and visited the wonderful Neruda house near the bottom of the funicular. Air pollution mars the views and it was very crowded at the top, but these were two things to do in one visit to that part of town.Guest review byKATHLEENUnited States - 8.0

An interesting excursion for a day in Santiago. One ticket takes up up the funicular and down the cable car - or the other way around! Or you could walk on one of teh many paths. Great view from the top and the usual selection of cafes and restaurants.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom

The building is amazing, and the second floor lounge is a great place to hang out. I loved sitting on the balcony watching the plaza in front of the hotel. And they had free wine there every evening. The parking is secure. San cristobal hill and park is a block away for walking and riding the funicular. The apartment was also pretty high up, so we could not really hear any street noise. The building itself is very secure and quiet. There is a supermarket in the same block and the metro station. The communication was also easy and they reply pretty quick to any questions. WiFi and tv cable was also provided. We did have an AC/heater that we could use in the cold/hot days of September.
