It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Although it was very close to the centre of Carlisle, it was also quiet and had a very private feel to it, probably because of its main entrance being around the back, the front entrance being closed off. Also, you enter the hotel directly from the spacious car park, and the satnav took us straight to the car park. The meals in the evening were excellent and the breakfast was great - informal friendly setting and helpful staff.

Just 6 miles from the historic city of Carlisle, The Crown Hotel is set in the picturesque village of Wetheral.

Fab place! Our second visit and we’ll definitely be back! Very dog friendly, lovely rooms, fab breakfast and a lovely beer garden :) Staff are very friendly too
