Excellent food. Very attentive staff. Very comfortable. Good value.

quiet and friendly with good facility's

By far the best hotel I have stayed at, it was beyond my expectations. The building itself is elegant whilst keeping the original features and charm. The rooms were like apartments huge, the front of house staff and chef went above and beyond even gave our pooch a sausage for breakfast and lots of fuss. The food on the evening and breakfast was plenty, delicious and lots of choice. Loved this place and will definitely be back again.

Great location, hardly saw anyone. Pints great.food excellent. Scrabble had all the pieces

Lovely staff! Rachel was fantastic in accommodating our group.

The room was really comfortable, clean, and spacious. The food was delicious and they had great vegan options - the kitchen were really kind and happy to cater to fussy eaters. The staff were amazing - every single person we interacted with was friendly and helpful and really made our stay even more enjoyable. It was easy to have our dog both in the pub / restaurant and in the room.

Location was perfect for us. The grounds were great. The log fire was a lovely touch. The price was great as this isn’t something we could normally afford to do.

Stunning views of the sea, lovely location and easy reach of places to eat. Calder House Seascale Golf club Bailey Ground Hotel Mawson's Salt Chinese Pizza place

Location perfect for our excursions. Delicious breakfast and dinners.

Historic inn in a remote valley. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. The room was comfortable and quiet. The food was delicious and fairly priced.

Great host who gave a lovely welcome. Room was spacious and had everything I needed. Had an evening meal in the restaurant and it was deliscious.

A lovely warm welcome, comfortable room, tasty breakfast and great staff

Beautiful view across estuary

All of it; Paul is a class act!!!! Couldn't be more friendly, helpful, and accommodating!

Absolutely perfect. Such a lovely place, good taste and such care with details. Wonderful breakfast.

We came because we had stayed in the Wansfell when we married 60 years ago. Name had changed but much the same! Staff were very friendly, we had a long chat with Stuart at breakfast as, being the only 'normal' guests we were last down for breakfast (not rushing off to work).

Excellent location and very peaceful

Repeat customer. Facility is unchanged from 2022. As before, limited kitchen hours, but they disclose that up front (bakery across the street is fresh each morning...). Online photos are accurate.
