Make sure there is not some form of function/celebration or protest. Trafalgar Square was entirely closed up & decorated for Chinese New year & I felt that took away from one of London's iconic features
Gets crowded on any warm day but woth seeing the nations tribute to our most famous and successful admiral,Lord Nelson.Around the square are a number of our famous galleries. All the streets off the square offer a whole range of interesting places to and things to see.
Wonderful place with easy access to National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery is just around the back. Both have good cafes to eat and good Gallery shops. Often there are performers in this Square which adds to the atmosphere.Kids love climbing on the bronze lions.
Overlooking the Square is St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church. Go there. To the left of the church is a glass dome with stairs or take the lift down to their Cafe in the Crypt. Yes, it’s where people are buried. You can dine very cheap for London. cafeteria style. The food tastes like home cooking. Always a gluten free, veg. choice. The grave stones are under your feet. Open until 9 PM most nights. Also, they have a small, but nice gift shop. At Christmas time, wonderful card selection. Enjoy.
Go if only to look inside. The National Museum is wonderful. Step into St Martins in the field for a look. The restaurant in the Crypt is reliable. There is usually something on the plaza to enjoy.
Very centrally located just around the corner from Waterloo station and the South Bank, so within easy walking distance of Westminster and Trafalgar Square. It's student accommodation so individual single rooms with en suites, but with a desk, access to kitchen facilities, and towels and shower gel/shampoo supplied, and wifi works well as you'd expect from a student hall of residence.
We had a loft family room . It was spacious and well appointed . The beds were very comfortable with quality bedding that was cool and cosy at the same time . The location is perfect . Plenty of things within walking distance for example Trafalgar square and Covent garden . We had breakfast on one day morning . It was lovely plenty of choice however was quite pricey .
Location is great, just a few hundreds meters from Trafalgar Square, and close to restaurants, subway and shops. Charing Cross Station is just around the corner and there you can find taxis. Big Ben and Downing Street are just a few minutes walk away, and Buckingham Palace and Regent Street are half an hour to walk. Perfect location!
Very easy to reach, right around the corner of the metro station. By foot (medium to fast walker) it takes 15 minutes to China Town, 25 to Picadily square, 25-30 minutes to Trafalgar square, 45-50 minutes to Big Ben. The rooms are clean, there is free and good wifi and you can store your luggage.
A few meters from Trafalgar Square, a few meters from the Thames, parliament, Buckingham palace, the national gallery... It's awesome, clean rooms, palatial entrance and welcoming staff. Lovely!
Excellent, great location! The rooms were spacious and clean, they provided everything we needed and it was right near Trafalgar Square. Amazing value for money.
Nothing above par, just a quick fix to accommodating oneself around Trafalgar Square. A train station is also close by and thats a plus for me.
Trafalgar square makes impression by giving sense of Great Empire, while monuments in front of parliament illustrate the way from empire to democracy.
Start walking from Westminster through Trafalgar Square up to Covent Garden calling into as many cultural destinations as you go.
