I had a fantastic experience staying at Room Mate Giulia. The staff were incredibly professional and helpful throughout my stay, always ready to assist with a smile. The location is unbeatable in the heart of the Duomo area, with everything from shops to restaurants just steps away. It’s the perfect spot for exploring Milan on foot. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. However, one thing to keep in mind: you can’t drive directly to the front of the hotel. I had to stop nearby and rely on the bellboy to help with my luggage, which they did efficiently. Also, there’s no free parking available, and dealing with a rental car in this area turned out to be more of a hassle than it was worth. I ended up returning the car to the rental office since I didn’t really need it. One downside during my stay in August was the temporary street maintenance work happening nearby. It created some noise and made the area slightly less pleasant to walk through. While it’s not the hotel’s fault, it did affect the overall atmosphere a bit. Despite that, the hotel itself was excellent, and I’d absolutely stay here again just without a car and hopefully after the street work is complete!

    I would recommend visiting Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco) for its rich history and stunning architecture. This iconic fortress, originally built in the 15th century, houses several museums and art collections, including works by Michelangelo. The surrounding park, Sempione Park, is perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic.

    I loved it.

    I loved it. It was more of an art museum than a castle visit. I probably spent 3-4 hours there. Lots of different types of museums within the castle. The only toilet I found was outside on the grounds

    Currently the Egyptian and Da Vinci exhibitions are closed...

    Currently the Egyptian and Da Vinci exhibitions are closed so don’t pay for entry unless the other museums interest you. All of the castle you can see is free, inside the castle is only museum spaces and you can only access the walkway around the castlations by pre booking a walking tour before you arrive. I’d say an hour wander around and through before the park was fine for most people. Don’t bother with the rest unless you are a real history student or something. Michael Angelo exhibit was one unfinished piece.

    The castle is nice from the outside, but women be warned - there are, like in so many other European cities, groups of men lingering at the entryways trying to talk you into giving them money for bits of 'lucky' string. I've seen this trick so many times, they offer to tie it around your wrist, then won't let go of your arm until you pay them (I have photos of the bruises from Paris to prove it 😞). They are incessant and claim it's for free, so I would advise you walk straight past & ignore them, even if it feels rude. I suppose the staff of the castle know about this, but perhaps corruption reigns and a few backhanders allow them to continue...

    Location was perfect for our group. We had a 3bd-2b apartment that was very comfortable. We arrived early and were able to check in a little earlier than originally planned. Very easy to communicate with the property using WhatsApp. Apartment was centrally located so we did a lot of walking, but train and metro were close by. Restaurants right outside our doorway. Sforza Castle across piazza. Lovely city and would stay at Imperiale Suites again.

    The location and ambiance of this property are incredible. Gorgeous old farm house within blocks of good restaurants and the metro. We walked to everything other than the train station from the property - the Last Supper, the Duomo, Sforza castle, and shopping - and none of the sites were more than 50 minutes on foot. The bar and restaurant are great, too. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable! I would describe the decor as “adult hostel.”

    This place is a gem. The location could not be better. Turn right or left and there is great shopping and restaurants. Historic sites are close. We went to hear music at Sforza Castle. We took the metro and buses all over town as it is close to metro stop Lanza. There is even a good market with take away food and many international foods. Breakfast at the hotel is excellent. The reception and breakfast staff are kind and professional.
