- From $445.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 669 reviewsBovey castl;e is in a beautiful location. The staff were universally helpful and friendly. We did a number of activities whilst there (archery, air rifles, gin/cider making, birds of prey) and all the instructors were great (knowledgable and informal). Rob in the Golfs hop was also super helpful in getting us out on the course for a few holes. The equipment was also good quality for all the activities.. We stayed in a 3 bed lodge which was very well equipped and cosy. Overall really pleased with our 5 night stay for 3 generations of the family. The staff seem happy and friendly and this gives the hotel a relaxed and socialble atmosphere.Guest review byRICHARDUnited Kingdom

Exeter is a beautiful city with excellent transport links, restaurants, bars and cafés. It has a beautiful cathedral with lots of history. It is quite hilly so there may be some climbs involved! It is also close to the coast and the harbour area is beautiful. Highly recommended for a city break.Guest review byJoy WhiteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Ilfracombe is a lovely seaside town. We went for a festival and it was very exciting to be there because of it. It's a lovely town to walk about in. Would have liked to have spent more time to explore the place further.Guest review byVipulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Having spent many holidays in Exmouth as a child it was nice to return after a number of years. Not too much has changed, which is no bad thing, and it is still a lovely place to spend a holiday. Having such a wide beach means you can have long walks along the promenade and the Marina is worth a visit too. The Exmouth Museum was new to me and is well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and informative and, although small, it has a lot of exhibits. It's very easy to take the train to Exeter which has wonderful views of the estuary, and we also drove to St Erth and then took the park and ride to St Ives which is a lovely town and the railway line goes alongside the beautiful coast. Don't miss A La Ronde on the edge of town too. Exmouth has wonderful flower displays all around the town and everything is kept in good condition. Inevitably there are some closed shops but still a lot of choice and many restaurants, pubs and cafes to choose from as well as a cinema. We ate breakfast and some evening meals in the Weatherspoon Powder Monkey which won't be to everyone's taste but you couldn't fault the service, choice and prices. We also went to Prezzo which was very good with excellent service and The Bath House in the sea front. Before coming I wasn't sure if I would want to return in the future but this definitely confirmed it won't be my last!Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Dartmouth is a lovely place to stay, and also handy for trips on the River Dart. There is also a scenic steam railway across the estuary in Kingswear which will take you to Paignton. We ate at The George and Dragon which was only a few minutes away from No 8, and enjoyed our meal there.Guest review byShirllmartinUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Has a good range of shops and some reasonably priced long-stay parking. Interesting local museum by the river is well worth a visit. Many other seaside villages and other local towns easily reached from this area, including RHS Rosehall Gardens and a couple of NT properties worth a visit. We had a full week at The Spinney, Barnstable and did a different thing each day. Some very good local places to have dinner eg the Williams Arms and Squires Fish Restaurant in Braunton. Be careful to keep to A and B roads where possible as some narrow country lanes are challenging and can be time-consuming to drive.Guest review byAlistairUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Sidmouth is a traditional seaside town which has retained its original character. It has a long, attractive promenade and the possibility of going on walks along the cliffs to other Devon villages. I had some lovely sunny days when the promenade, beaches and sea were full of families enjoying their time there. The town contains many individual shops, all seeming to be thriving, a department store which has been there for years, a theatre with a summer season, an interesting and well presented museum, and the possibility of boat trips to see the geological cliff faces of the jurassic period. There are no slot machines or pleasure arcades. Simply Sidmouth is a place for an enjoyable traditional English seaside holiday, and may it long remain so!Guest review byMAUREEN - 10.0
Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit.
Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit. Plenty of great pubs and places to eat set in a very picturesque environment. The cliff railway was interesting to ride on and the Exmoor visitors centre was very informative. The valley of rocks was amazing to visit.Guest review byBob ThorntonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A beautiful place away from the City hustle.
A beautiful place away from the City hustle. The Caravan stay for awesome and my parents and my family loved it. The caravan booked was for 7 people including 2 kids, which had 3 bedroom and 1 toilet and one toilet and bathroom attached. We booked for 3 nights, and on the second day we decided to check if we could extend the stay for another 3 nights, but it was a shame that caravan was booked and we could not extend our stay. Our car was parked in front of the Caravan we stayed. The nearby food joints was about ~10 to 15 mins walk from the location "Seafield Holiday Park". "Affinity Devon Outlet Shopping" was about 10 mins drive from the location we stayed. I would surely recommend to visit/stay in this place.Guest review byAlexUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Lovely town some nice shops but quite expensive.
Lovely town some nice shops but quite expensive. Couple of nice pubs and several nice cafes. Worth the walk to south sands beach and the Winking Prawn cafe. Great quick, inexpensive ferry across bay to Fisherman's cove beach and coastal path .Traffic a nuisance. Can get very busy especially in school holidays.Guest review byBarbaraUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Totnes a lovely town with plenty of coffee and pasty shops.
Totnes a lovely town with plenty of coffee and pasty shops. Interesting buildings with Markets taking place on a regular basis. Only one coffee shop opens at 8 am - thank goodness for that one. Only gripe was WH Smith not open until 9 am. Surely customers who want their early morning paper prefer the shop to be open from 8 am at least - it is a newsagent. To purchase a newspaper to go with the early morning coffee, cannot be done in Totnes.Guest review byStellaUnited Kingdom
