It was amazing. The view is amazing, the dinner and breakfast was lovely, the rooms clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge with a drink near the fireplace. A special thanks to Connel in the restaurant, who is an absolute asset to this hotel. They are very lucky to have him - he knows how to provide excellent service!Guest review byZaschaDenmark

I love Fort William, the area with the Loch right in front is stunning. There are some great little pubs to eat and have a drink, and a good amount of restarunts to choose from. There are hotels to B and Bs to stay. It is small with a lot of tourists from all over the world. It is a good base to drive and see some great country side.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Aviemore has a great buzz about it – a proper gateway to the Cairngorms with a strong tourist vibe that makes it feel lively year-round. The high street is packed with outdoor shops, from big names like Ellis Brigham and Tiso to smaller independents, so whether you’re after hiking boots, ski gear or a new waterproof, you’re well catered for. There’s also a good mix of cafés, pubs and restaurants, which keeps the place welcoming after a day outdoors. It’s the kind of town where you instantly feel in “holiday mode,” with a steady flow of visitors giving it energy without losing its Highland charm.Guest review byAndyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Portree is beautiful but it appears to be an old town that struggling to keep up with increased tourism to Skye. Most of the food establishments closed earlier than advertised and people were looking for a place to eat constantly. Many places were not open at all when we visited during the day.Guest review byRossUnited States - 8.0

A great place for boat tours of Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle is located just outside the village. The village itself is very pleasant with a beautiful village green which had a market on it the day we left. The Fiddlers Restaurant on the village green was a great place to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Urquhart Castle is well worth visiting with a great visitor centre and Loch Ness as a splendid backdrop to the stunning castle remains.Guest review byStephenHong Kong - 6.0

There seems to be a lot of closed up cafes /business premises in Kyleakin. Its a sprawling sort of place, maybe we hit it at a bad time. I would not have been too keen to stay there but for our cottage which was fabulous and if we had been staying longer it would have been a lovely house to base oneself in for trips to the rest of the island.Guest review byMaryIreland - 2.0
A poor and unattractive place.
A poor and unattractive place. Most shops were empty and nothing was looked after, except a superb flower garden around a statue in a little square near the hotel. It was difficult to find somewhere nice to eat. Quite depressing environment.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Passing through, needed a base.
Passing through, needed a base. It’s a bit out of the way, no buses in evening to connect to rest of Skye for returning from activities. The coop nearby makes for good grocery shopping, and the shoreline trail is scenic, for a short walk. Bus stop is a 5 min walk.Guest review byMechthild
