- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 41 reviews1. Incredibly beautiful quiet countryside setting an hour from London Heathrow. It is an old manor set amongst meadows and woodlands, exquisitely maintained, with gorgeous gardens of produce and romantic walkways. 2. The service was impeccable (hard to find these days), without a single flaw. The motto seemed to be "your wish is our command". "Izzy" at reception was very proactive in making sure we had the massage we requested on very short notice on arrival, kudos to her. Laundry would be delivered same-day at reasonable prices. Restaurant service was white table cloth and professional. Room service arrived at the requested time, hot and as requested. The Do Not Disturb sign was honored. 3. The multi-course fine dining experience was perfect , with brilliant service and a very helpful sommelier who assisted in navigating the massive wine list. Breakfast juices were fresh-squeezed and delicious. 4. Our upper floor spacious room ("Pear"), had a deep, copper-coated tub and separate shower, a high ceiling, and a very comfortable bed, mini-bar, adequate hanging space and drawers including bedside drawers. I was happy that key information about Gravetye for guests did not require use of a QR code, but was instead printed and accessible, the old-fashioned way. 5. Hosts provided a pre-printed list of five local walks one could do straight from Gravetye, without having to drive.Guest review byElisabethUnited States
- From $149.88 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,205 reviewsA charming hotel in a charming little English town. Only one hour away by direct train to Gatwick Airport, the hotel is the perfect place to spend a night before an international flight. The staff is friendly and the food in the restaurant as well as the breakfast buffet was exceptional. I was introduced to rhubarb and ginger gin as the attached pub, Less than 5 pound for the short taxi ride from the train station. There is so much to see in the town as well as the hotel. A great value; why spend the same amount or more at a generic airport hotel? On my town walkabout I had the chance to visit St. Nicholas Church and have a delightful chat with the vicar's wife. This has to be one of the most pleasant one-night hotel experiences in my life. Almost forgot to mention: sticky toffee pudding for dessert in the Castle Dining Room.Guest review byLaika 2008United States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 108 reviewsA real treat! This is a charming and delightful former country train station, 2 miles outside Petworth Village and close to Petworth House. Our accommodation was in the restored classic Pullman train carriages, each converted into 2 en-suite bedrooms. The carriages stand along the platform next to the station building, where a satisfying breakfast is served ion the old waiting room! The carriages themselves are fitted out with a good sized double bed. Most of the original paneling and decor has been retained and the room is decorated with period artifacts which give authentic character to the whole experience.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom

The Maple Manor hotel is just adequate.
The Maple Manor hotel is just adequate. The facilities (or certainly our room) had recently been updated and was modern. The shower area though needed a complete overall, with the tiling requiring a re grout. This spoilt otherwise a more than adequate bathroom. Breakfast was again more than adequate with a choice of warm or continental food. Parking facilities are plentiful with a large area to the rear of the hotel, which is not secure but there is CCTV covering the area. The hotel is a 10 minute taxi ride to the airport which costs around £25. However the main issue with the proximity of the hotel is that it is close to the airport runway. So if you require a decent nights sleep before your flight, then this hotel is NOT for you.Guest review byWayne BeddowsUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We used to live in Chichester and it is a lovely city, quite small and everything is based around the clock tower so well laid out. But like everywhere else, a lot of shops have closed and not been replaced or have been replaced with charity shops. We came to go to the theatre which is definitely a special place.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Worthing was totally flat for walking, the Town is totally pedestrianised, with terrific Coffee shops(inside and out), and Large Department stores. Plenty of seats around. Excellant selection of Pubs and places to eat to suit all pockets. Brilliant Bus service to visit other nearby resorts.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Arundel is beautiful with plenty of cafes, tea rooms, pubs, and restaurants. The art trail happened to be on whilst we were there, and although not our thing, it appeared to be very good. There was an open-air tribute act to ABBA too at night which appeared to be very well organised with a really fantastic atmosphere. The castle is the jewel in the crown and worth every penny to visit.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Bognor is a fairly traditional seaside town.
Bognor is a fairly traditional seaside town. There is a large Butlins camp there but this does not dominate the town. There are a good selection of cafes etc and more practical shops in the town but it is a relatively quiet place - does not have the razzmatazz of Brighton which is why it appealed to us! The beach is pretty much all shingle rather than sand which may explain the quieter atmosphere.Guest review byGeoffUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Close to the beach and the town has most amenities you need on holiday: shops, restaurants, takeaways, pubs. A good location to explore Chichester (direct bus route) and Bosham and Chichester Harbour. We had a pleasant meal at the Seal pub, good brunch at Waves cafe and tea/cake at Scooter Sue's cafe with the added bonus that she sells retro/vintage clothes and accessories.Guest review byFrankie8United Kingdom - 10.0

we only went to the hickstead showground but near to hotel is a burger king but we ate at the hotel. food at hickstead was lovely and was served from 5pm to 9pm. pedestrian access to the hickstead showground is a bit odd and could be easily missed, you first pass lot of locked gates on the main busy road, they say Breen Equestrian on them then another plain black gate and you can see showground beyond it then its a narrow short rough path looks like just cut through some hedges but thats the way in for pedestrians. Walkable from hickstead hotel.Guest review bysusanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Lovely historic town, love visiting the Cowdray ruins and the Cowdray deli. Disappointed with the restaurant options available in the town, but highly recommend Costimestibles for sandwiches and cakes. Midhurst is a good location as nearby some great walks and country mansion estates to visit, and just down the road from the wonderful duke of Cumberland for the best Sunday roast you can buy. good location for Goodwood events.Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed at The Roundabout Hotel as it was in an ideal location for all that we had planned on our pre-Christmas break. Pulborough suited our needs and enabled us to visit our friends who live nearby and also Arundel, the Petworth and Goodwood, and Chichester. The scenery and adventures to be had in this area are second to none. So many lovely pubs offer so much great food.Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom
