Look, I've been to quite a few destinations over the years – but Cancún really caught me off guard in the best possible way. You know that feeling when a place just clicks? That's exactly what happened here. The thing about Cancún is how it manages to be both incredibly polished and authentically Mexican at the same time. I mean, you've got these world-class resorts and infrastructure that rivals anything I've seen in major tech hubs, but then you step into the local markets or visit the Mayan ruins, and you're transported into this rich cultural heritage that's been around for centuries. What really impressed me was the attention to detail – from the seamless airport experience to the way local businesses blend modern efficiency with genuine hospitality. It reminded me of how the best tech implementations work: sophisticated behind the scenes, but effortless for the end user. The cenotes alone are worth the trip – think natural swimming pools carved by time itself. Pretty incredible engineering by Mother Nature, if you ask me. The food scene? Absolutely phenomenal. Fresh seafood that puts many coastal cities to shame, and authentic regional cuisine that tells the story of the Yucatan. Plus, having easy access to both relaxation and adventure means you can customize your experience exactly how you want it. Bottom line: Cancún delivers on multiple levels, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a destination that combines luxury, culture, and natural beauty. It's got that rare quality of exceeding expectations."Guest review byCarlosMexico - 2.0
Checked out early as couldn’t stay here any longer.
Checked out early as couldn’t stay here any longer. Tried to raise a complaint with the duty manager and was treated worse after doing so. Food is bad and you have to Que to get into the buffet restaurant because they claim they are not busy due to low season so not opening up all of the restaurant. Oh and you get charge £150 if you loose your room key.Guest review byClifford - 10.0

Once you know the right places to go, where to book transportation, which tours to take, I’m sure you will have the best experience and you won’t want to leave! The agency @xclusivetravelw helped me with concierge service with no charge, and they recommended the best spots, my camera roll is full of amazing content from Tulum.Guest review byCapullo - 8.0

Punta Mosquito was our absolute favorite, but Punta Coco was also surprisingly beautiful! We were glad we checked both out! The bioluminescence was a pretty cool tour, along with the whale shark tour. Be aware that most taxis are fairly expensive, and you won't find any rides cheaper than 100 MXN pesos. Don't bother with the kayak tour. You won't see much wildlife. The mangroves are pretty cool though! Kayaking is a bit tough. I do think the tour guides should provide a lot more instruction. Try to stay close to Punta Mosquito to avoid high taxi charges.Guest review byHugoUnited States - 8.0

The beaches and blue water were stunning.
The beaches and blue water were stunning. We stayed in the middle of the island and found 2 good restaurants to eat at. Our full day there was spent swimming with the whale sharks and we returned to Isla Mujeres North Beach for a swim and lunch. The weather was extremely hot and unfortunately the shaded areas were all owned and needed to be paid for. We needed more time to explore and could have easily spent a week.Guest review byJenniferAustralia - 6.0

I enjoyed the natural beauty of the areas outside the touristy downtown area. I rented a scooter and drove the entire perimeter of the island (about 2 hours around without stops), but there are a few sightseeing locations, so plan a bit more time. I was there to go scuba diving and it did not disappoint. Once you get out of the touristy areas Cozumel is basically a rundown Caribbean island with not much to offer.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0

Mahahual was rundown and uncared for.
Mahahual was rundown and uncared for. For a tourist destination we noticed a lot of uncollected rubbish on the beaches and the tourist spots needed a refresh. It is highly recommended for diving as they have a reef but again the seaweed is a major problem and has not been tackled by the local authorities bearing in mind that swimming is the main activity there.Guest review byIvanSwitzerland
