Breakfast was AMAZING! Compliments to the chef! We were excited to have breakfast. The tea verde was delicious. I even asked the staff where i could buy it. The Owner is french really nice Guy! Heads off to Pablo & Adriana/staff and chef. They are so friendly and welcoming. Service is amazing. The cleaning ladies gave us every single day 2 bottles of water. We slept like a baby. The bed is feels like a cloud. Parking space was close by 2min walk. Dont hesitate to book this hotel!

Great accommodation- I would highly recommend not only are the rooms cute, the grounds are beautiful - the food is so good & really reasonably priced. Everything we ate was delicious and the drinks esp cocktails are so much cheaper than other places. We also really enjoyed the cave & pool and the massage was one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff also organised a private guide for 2hrs at Chichen Itza- Roami was great, we learnt lots from him.

Great place to stay with your family or partner. The breakfast is 100% worth it. Also the restaurant itself offers a lot of food options and all of them are worth it. The hot pool it´s amazing and a great place to relax. The location is safe, but you will definetiley have to bring your car or pay the local transport (tuk tuks) to get around between Santa Catarina and Panajachel. It´s not a deal breaker, but you have to take that in count.

I had an incredible experience at this hotel! I stayed in a Standard Double Room for four nights, and it was a truly enjoyable stay. Service & Staff 👏 From the Aquamarina restaurant staff to the front desk team, pool bar, and towel station attendants, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Their warm and welcoming attitude made my stay even better. Dining 🍽️ The hotel has four different restaurants, but I only dined at Aquamarina. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, offering a wide variety of options. The average dinner cost was around 450-500 pesos. I was happy to see plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices, making it easy to find food as a vegetarian. Another huge plus was having a Starbucks inside the hotel, which was super convenient for me as a remote worker. Room & Cleanliness 🏨 My room was spotless, and the towels were fresh and clean. The hotel itself had a very clean atmosphere. The room was also well-equipped, featuring a large refrigerator, a microwave, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Location & Safety 📍 The location is perfect—situated at the corner of the Hotel Zone, it’s only a 5-minute walk to nightlife spots like Coco Bongo and other clubs. I felt very safe walking around, even at night. I enjoyed taking walks along the bike path—1-1.5 km towards La Isla and 2-2.5 km towards Playa Tortugas. The hotel also has a stunning beach, which is one of its biggest highlights! Entertainment & Activities 🎶 The hotel hosts nightly events, which added a fun touch to my stay. One night, a Mexican singer performed, and another night featured a dance show—both were fantastic! Final Thoughts 💯 Overall, my experience was excellent, and I truly believe the hotel is worth the price. I would definitely recommend it for its amazing location, great service, and stunning beach! Would love to visit again! 😊✨

The place is beautiful with a great variety of places for family members to swim and play. We were varied age groups and there was something for all. Loved the river beach at the resort particularly. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful everywhere we went. We loved the food. Lots of options at the buffet. The Brazilian steakhouse was so much fun and delicious food. Trajinero was also excellent -- especially with Franky, our wonderful server who made the evening special. Best of all was the fusion restaurant. Sushi heaven! Thank you to Eleanor! The little ones also enjoyed the Teppanyaki dinner with the knife juggling and fire displays. Guest services was very helpful setting up all of our reservations in the weeks before our trip. My son surprised the ladies with spa treatments Mulak and the massage was one of the best I've had. I wish I caught the name of the woman who did the treatment (Patrice??). She was excellent and the ambience of the place really adds to the experience. We also enjoyed the parks and went to the three close ones - Xcaret, Xenses, and Xplor and had fun at all. The included shuttles came more frequently than the 20 minutes advertised -- a welcome surprise. It was a pleasure to have everything included -- transportation from the minute you land until the last trip to the airport, food and lockers at most parks.

Service: I spent one night at Papaya Playa Project in a beautiful Casita with a rooftop pool, and it was truly unforgettable. There is something about this place that captures the authentic soul of Tulum. The sound of the waves, the scent of the jungle, and the warmth of the people blend perfectly to create an atmosphere that feels both wild and deeply peaceful. Watching the sunrise from my rooftop pool felt like witnessing the world come alive. The sea in front of me, the palm trees swaying in the breeze, and the soft rhythm of nature all around me created a feeling of pure magic. What I loved most about Papaya Playa Project is its energy. It is not just a hotel; it is a place that makes you feel part of Tulum itself. Everything here feels genuine, earthy, and real. It is a space to disconnect from everything and reconnect with yourself. My stay was short but soul-stirring. I left feeling renewed, inspired, and with a piece of this beautiful place forever in my heart.

What a fabulous stay! We absolutely loved our experience here and after doing a lot of research believe it may be the nicest property on the entire lake. Facilities were beautiful with stunning views from the rooms and infinity pool. Staff were world-class, always smiling, energetic, friendly, and ready to say yes. They truly went above and beyond. Bartender Cristian is the best! Our upgraded room was spectacular and newly remodeled with a beautiful tub overlooking the lake. Breakfast, dinner, and drinks at the pool bar were all excellent. The hotel also arranged for a great couples massage, laundry service, and a private boat tour of the lake. Thanks so much and we will be back!!

I am a nature lover and not particularly drawn to the beach...

I am a nature lover and not particularly drawn to the beach party scene, so this information is for others in my sandals. Warning: the beautiful and vast stretches of white beach you see in all the pictures are largely gone. Already plagued by an extra intense dose of seaweed ("sargassum") even by local standards, sea rise has eroded the shorelines considerably. Water is dark with churned up vegetation so there is zero visibility when swimming and snorkeling off-shore is completely out of the question. If this is part of your baseline expectation (as it is for me), budget and plan for ferries to Isla Mujeres and Cozumel. The shores of these islands that face the mainland are sheltered from this phenomenon and will provide the pristine experience you seek. There are free beaches on both islands that you can snorkel in safe waters and see natural wildlife. Most resorts have enough beach to sit and sun on but walking down great lengths of shoreline (a favorite activity) can be effected by erosion-control measures and piles of raked up rotting seaweed which stink. If you are prepared to work through this disappointment, there is still much to enjoy. We also visit during the peak of seaweed bloom so I cannot speak for other times of year, but I can tell you the erosion is shocking. Snorkeling excursions to pristine places are still awe-inspiring but require planning and additional expense, so plan for a few of these!

The quality of foods and drinks , the resurants , the cleaners and the size of rooms and internal activities were excellent. Valladolid is a small, quaint town with some decent restaurants and an attractive main street for shopping and a nice evening stroll. Unfortunately, the video mapping was suspended while we were there, so we didn't get a chance to see that. The Valladolid letters are a cute photo op, and the paleta place across the street was affordable. Not the best paletas I've ever had, but they hit the spot on a hot night.

Antigua has many options for travelers.

Antigua has many options for travelers. You can take a casual day and walk to the central park and explore the shops around the park including the chocolate making demonstration where you can join in the fun. It's a short walk to the local markets where you will find anything that you might have forgotten for your trip or a few souvenirs. There are opportunities to make Antigua a central hub for hiking the nearby volcanos on a day hike or for exploring other attractions like the macadamia nut farm not too far from Antigua. It is easy to make arrangements for day trips through any of the hotels or small local travel agencies on the street. And end your day with a massage at one of the very reasonably priced spa facilities. One of the best restaurants is Rinconcito where the prices are low and the food quality high.

Tulum has a lot to offer. It’s a really cool place. Don’t judge the book by its cover. A lot of the hotels don’t look real inviting from the front, from the street view. But there hidden gem when you walk into the front doors. You can walk almost everywhere, lots of shopping. People are friendly.

I was looking forward to a fun place with an energetic vibe.

I was looking forward to a fun place with an energetic vibe. Unfortunately, there was no music around the pool, and the outside restaurant was very limited and not very good. They ran out of several drinks at the pool bar. We had no electricity one day, no air one day, no hot water one day and we could not even get pool towels after 6:00pm even though the pool closed at 11:00pm. I tried to pick up pool towels the next morning and they were not available until 11:00 am. The upstairs bar closed at 8:00 pm which left us with nothing to do on the premises so we would have to go away from the resort to get any entertainment or decent food. We could not even get English on TV because they only offered Spanish and so I felt extremely isolated and restricted. I have never had this kind of experience at other resorts I have stayed at and have always looked forward to my vacations. This was such a disappointment, and I could honestly not recommend this resort to anyone else.
