Charleston is an amazing history. You should really take a historical walking tour to understand all there is and how meaningful it is. Charleston has a dark history especially about slavery, so be prepared to hear the truth. But people are proud of their multi-faceted history, it seems like a very friendly and open place, and the amount of old houses and buildings is amazing. Great restaurants and decent shopping. Charm galore. I want to go back.

The food and the markets were my favorite!
The food and the markets were my favorite! The historical aspect of the city is very interesting, and the buildings are so beautiful. Another Broken Egg Cafe is such a quaint and delicious breakfast spot. The Sunset Cruise on the catamaran was delightful. Next time we visit we will be sure to stay closer to town so we can walk instead of Uber. The ferry to Fort Sumter was really nice as well. Every single person that we encountered during our stay was super nice.

Overpriced city, it was not much to do there, overcrowed during long weekend. There is a decent USS museum - make sure to have about 5 hours to cover most of it. Most restaurants even those which are named as Fish restaurants might have no fish entrees. Prices for seafood are about $30-40 per enteree.

this was our third trip to Charleston and we enjoyed visiting several of the plantations, the old homes through the city, city market, patriot point, several of the forts and historical sites. we enjoyed walking along the sea wall at the battery, parking at the visitor center and taking the free buses that go through the city .visiting the fountains and water front piers we had a relaxing view of the river . GREAT CITY.
Location was great - walking distance access to Patriots Point and to Charleston Harbor. Mount Pleasant is a beautiful town with many great restaurants and shopping areas. Value of the hotel is good; not over-priced as in downtown Charleston. Comfortable beds and hotel is clean. Breakfast is included with plentiful options. Free and convenient parking.
The room was pretty big The hotel was located in a good location just a little north of the downtown scenic area. But it's on a street with lots of restaurants and stores. Breakfast was standard. Check in was not the best as employee gave me wrong room that did not exist. Overall a good stay. Gym was ok and it has a big pool.
The hotel is located in a great position for walking around the historic district. The staff all polite and helpful. Our room
Was spacious and the bed and pillows very comfortable.
The added touch of cheese and wine on the top floor was delightful after a day of touring.
The breakfast was also very good.
The hotel is amazing! Very very pretty totally in line with Charleston style and it’s perfectly in the city center. The restaurant and the bar inside are good and super pretty too!
Rooms are spacious clean and cute. We loved the record player in our bedroom, matches perfectly the vibe.
the best hotel the staff very friendly, the room was very clean and the beds very comfortable, and the sofa bed very comfortable too, my next trip I will return to the same hotel. Is like 30 minutes from folly beach not too far, and like 16 minutes from the charleston downtown.
The location was perfect to folly beach, downtown Charleston the apartment very easy to find. Lovely neighborhood. Welcome goodies on the countertop. Paul was very responsive to a question we had.
Definitely recommend The Gray Heron House. We hope to return in the future.
- The location is great. 15 minute drive to downtown Charleston, 10 minutes to Patriots Point for Ft. Sumter Ferry
- Lots of great food in the area
- only reasonably priced hotel in the area!
- plenty of parking
The location is convenient and the hotel is easy to locate. The grounds are well maintained with mature trees. The area is safe. It takes less than 10 minutes to get to the heart of downtown Charleston.
Stunning, sophisticated hotel in Charleston’s historic district. Location was PERFECT! The pool was FABULOUS and exclusive to hotel guests.
I will return!
Good breakfast, large, comfortable beds, very clean bathroom; hotel location is excellent in terms of distance to the historic district of Charleston, SC.
