My spouse and I had a few days to spend between our completed Alaska cruise and then flying to Europe for an additional 3 weeks of vacation so we decided on visiting Vancouver Island, a place neither of us had ever been to. We chose not to rent a car and travelled via BC Connect, a bus company which worked out perfectly.
We thoroughly enjoyed Victoria, a beautiful small city of 400K residents, half retired. Lots of things of interest for everyone including a tour of the Provincial Gov't buildings. Excellent choice of restaurants other than The Spaghetti Warehouse which was terrible!

I come from a small city and I found the traffic heavy. We were here for a family get-together so did not do much sightseeing this time, but I know the views of the harbour are beautiful and the wharf is interesting. We did not do a carriage ride this time but we will next time.

Victoria is a very clean city and is very walkable if you do not have a car.
Make sure you check out Beacon Hill Park for a lovely walk and don't miss the turtles who sleep on the logs in the ponds!
We were upgraded to a queen deluxe suite. It was very nice and well appointed. Small kitchenette with nice coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator. There was a very comfortable leather sofa and a TV setup. The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and there was also a TV.
The TVs are smart and are connected to the internet so that you can login to your AmazonPrime or Netflix ect. Finally got around to watching Oppenheimer.
I used to live in Victoria and I love this area, great walking trails and access to downtown and nightlife.
The location of this hotel is excellent, well within walking distance of the ferry port, as well as great shopping and restaurants. Victoria is a very walkable city. I loved the room. A two story, two bedroom suite. The bathroom was large and clean. The pull out couch down stairs was comfortable. The beds in the two bedrooms up stairs are extremely comfortable. There is a nice kitchen and the whole space is comfortable and well decorated, with interesting art on the walls even. I was very impressed at the value for the price!
Location was great (easy walking distance to central parts of Victoria).
Parking very easy to access (just ignore the instructions the GPS gives, they'll take you right past the parking entrance).
Staff were helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was tasty (especially the sausages!) if basic, but offered a lot of tasty options.
Room is *very* dark with the drapes drawn. If you like that, great.
Our room was quiet, with a view over the central part of the hotel.
Right across the street from an excellent French restaurant.
i have lived in victoria for 20 years and know this property well ,if you want to go downtown its 15 mins in a car or taxi, the hosts are great the bedrooms more than adequate ,better than staying in a downtown hotels,i will now forget the downtown hotels with cramped rooms and little views ,this is the best way to see all of downtown out of your bedroom window .
Your staff are the best thing in a city where everyone is working so hard to provide the best service.
The location is great as I presume that this hotel is largely responsible for the development and growth of Victoria
You set a very high standard and the whole town has your hotel to thank and responsible for how this town has become the best of Canada
Lovely condo with terrace in excellent central location in downtown Victoria. A great home away from home when visiting in Victoria area. We could not have picked a better spot to stay in terms of being in the midst of things. So great to stop in as needed during the day of sightseeing for a quick change, rest, etc. Much better than a hotel room!
Friendly staff. The room was nice, clean and had 2 Queen beds. It had a coffee maker with coffee, sugar, cream, micro wave, fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The Hotel is located downtown by the Empress Hotel, surrounded by restaurants, bars, places to browse and shop. Walking distance to everything.
Easy to check-in and park. It's a very basic hotel (just a bedroom, no other amenities), so what you get is a comfortable place to sleep in a very good location in downtown Victoria. Lots of nearby restaurants. We liked nearby Frank's Honeybun Cafe on Yates for a casual breakfast.
Booking.com rate was $30 more than front desk rate, will call hotel first next time
Hotel was pet friendly though pet room was bit rough compared to others. Overall great location to walk to downtown. Staff very nice. Parking was good.
The location was great, close to downtown Victoria and the shopping malls. Nice that the galloping goose trail runs right along the back at the hotel. The room was tastefully decorated with modern decor and very clean.
The hotel is located on the inner harbour so the view is unparalled and guests can walk to everything downtown Victoria has to offer with ease. Countless restaurants and pubs within a stone's throw.
Nice welcome from Joo at front desk. Kitchen. Pool. Close to downtown. Room was quiet except for some young people returning to hotel around midnight and talking loudly in corridor.
Picked this hotel because it’s walking distance to the bus station to and from Vancouver. Also walking distance to a lot of sites in downtown Victoria.
