The room was large and its layout was better than average (including more then enough table space and seating). They even have separate restroom and bathroom. The view from the 6th floor was nice.
I actually enjoyed walking towards the river/historic area. In my book it was not far or boring at all. You say it's farther from downtown, I say it's closer to other historic squares such as Pulaski. I actually enjoyed the lower 8 squares more than those located closer to the river. Also remember that there's a free shuttle going in circles (aka Forsyth loop - see www.connectonthedot.com/new-dot-express-shuttle-services for details).
The parking situation was not an issue contrary to my expectations. There's a 5-level public garage on the same block. Basically, one building behind. We arrived around 6 pm, stayed for two nights, left around 10 am, and it cost me under $40.

I think the most disappointing thing about tourist cities is that they take full advantage of visitors. They also need to clean up the homeless people. Even though Paula deen's restaurant is extremely high I think it is still the best value for restaurants.

Loved the museums, hop on hop off trolley was very informative, the squares were wonderful and the statues. Refreshing to see a town that treasures it's history and doesn't try to dismantle it.. go to Clarys, but avoid the well known names. Best restaurant was small Mexican place. Regretfully didn't make note of name. The free DOT bus was great for getting to waterfront area

Savannah is a great place to visit.
Savannah is a great place to visit. It has historic charm along with friendly people. There are restaurants and shops wherever you decide to stay. We especially like the Riverboat cruise, we have been before but wanted to take our 90-year-old Mom. She truly enjoyed it. We have been on the tour trolly, we love to hear what made Savannah. We also come to be with family.
- great location, at the edge of Downtown by Washington Sq
- valet parking
- friendly staff
- beautiful lobby „living room“ style
- gorgeous outdoor seated area towards the inner part of the hotel
- pool, note however that it is very small and way too warm. Throughout the day it was too crowded, I recommend going there only in the evening
- good food at the breakfast restaurant (a la carte)
- complementary wine and spiked lemonade 4-5PM
- complementary coffee and tea in the morning
Valet service was excellent upon arrival and departure. Valet was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. I loved the location.. Walk outside directly on the riverwalk. Very convenient location to all the shops and dining. We didn’t need to drive and saved on gas. The trolley tour and carriages picked up and dropped off closely outside of the hotel. Really enjoyed the plant district and the historic/ downtown district.
Room turned out to be an appartment! Tons of space! (bathroom was a little small) The location was great, very easy access to downtown and the sights. The staff were all really helpful and very friendly. We arrived a day late due to a xlld flight and the hotel was hugely accommodating and understanding and refunded us the lost night too!
Perfect location. Very close to all the lovely squares and tree lined roads of the historic district. Excellent restaurants nearby. Lovely hotel, full of character. Breakfast was excellent. Very friendly staff. And we managed to park on the street very close to the hotel.
We usually stay here when we visit Savannah Historic District, and we have not been dissatisfied yet. The breakfast was the best we’ve had so far on our vacation, at any hotel, the staff polite and courteous. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you
The location is perfect and close to many shops and necessities for lower downtown Savannah. and I enjoyed feeling like I had a little apartment to go back to for relaxing during the day rather than a hotel room
The location was phenomenal, only a short walk from River Street and many downtown attractions. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and hardworking. Parking with the valet service was easy and straightforward.
The hotel is just on the edge of the Historic downtown area. We had chosen it because of its location to the Event we had come to attend. Didn’t make breakfast the first day but did the second, it was awesome.
Close to all the downtown action. Lots of restaurants nearby. Parking in a close ramp worked well. We got in late and took a little exploration to find our way. Once we did, it all worked out great.
Lovely vintage Hotel. Staff are very friendly. Rooms were large and clean. The extras left in the rooms Coke/Moonpie were a nice addition. East walking distance to historic Savannah.
It was nice to have restaurants and the rooftop bar in the hotel. The location is a little outside downtown Savannah but the free trolley/bus stop is right outside the hotel.
Parking is always expensive downtown so it was nice to have the valet. I liked this hotel and it is definitely a good option to spend your time in Savannah Historic Center.
The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was very convenient from I95. It was also close to downtown Savannah. The breakfast was decent in the morning.
We ate at Atrium bar food was good. We ate out mostly to experience Savannah downtown. The hop on hop off trolley stop 9 is 2 blocks from hotel very good value
Breakfast was good. Room was clean. The staff was very attentive. The hotel overall was quiet and nice to stay at. Great location to downtown Savannah too.
