We loved our free walking tour in the first morning.

We loved our free walking tour in the first morning. This gave a good sense of the city and was great for families. Going to the dome was brilliant - wonderful architecture and free view of the city. Potsdam was lovely to explore - quiet and beautiful. We also enjoyed just hanging in bars, walking around the streets and taking in the day!

We visited the Bradenburg Gate in the evening so it was all lit up and there was a musician playing violin which really added to the ambiance. Worth a visit as very impressive. The TV Tower was quite expensive (about 90 Euros for 3 of us) but it did have great views across Berlin and you could even spot Tropical Islands Resort in the distance. The train system is really easy to use, although the ticket machine was not very clear to me and I ended up overpaying for one journey. There are no barriers though which was odd - you just walk on and off after validating your ticket at a machine that stamps the time on the ticket. We visited Tropical Islands Resort which was easy to get to on the train and then the free shuttle bus. It was an expensive day though so be prepared! East Side Gallery is worth a visit to see the Berlin Wall.

The excellent food and drink, the concentration of sites in the walkable center, the awesome public buildings, the convenient, affordable public transit, the surprising amount of greenery and waterways made this a memorable trip. The Berlin Wall exhibit and other sites are testaments to world history that Germany should be commended for preserving - the good, the bad and the ugly.

    Amazing city!

Amazing city! Museum Island is great to just walk around and look at the stunning buildings. Jewish Memorial and the information centre underneath is very moving, and the Topography Museum is not to be missed to learn about the history of the city. East Side Gallery is worth a visit too. A fantastic city break! Really easy to travel around.

avoid the middle of winter and middle of summer : extreme temperatures. Make sure all is planned: key sites, places to drink and eat etc. Distances can be long. Familiarise yourself with transport network.

    I really enjoyed Berlin.

I really enjoyed Berlin. The area where I stayed was clean, calm, and quiet, which I appreciate a lot. Like in many big cities, I did notice some people struggling on the streets, which can be surprising if you’re not used to it, but overall I had a very positive experience. It’s a pleasant feeling to be in such a well-developed and organized city.

Whenever we fly back into Germany (my country of birth) from New Zealand we actually look at flights into Berlin first although this requires a train over to Cologne in the very west at the end. I guess this statement would already be enough of a compliment for the city and the Sorat Hotel in particular but I can be more precise: We love the reliable warm welcome, the appealing interior design of the rooms , the great location and the free choice of crunchy croissants and really good coffee in the morning.

Everything was perfect during my stay in Berlin. This hotel located in the best area of Mitte next to the island of the museums and the metro station, is very smartly designed by people who are really expert in hospitality. In every corner of the hotel you can feel the elegance and the professionalism of the stuff. Special thanks to Benjamin at the reception who was very kind and helpful and the ladies who offered the great breakfast ! Thank you !

The hotel has seen its best days. Bit of a strange place in a little frequented side street. But: If you're looking for a quiet room with nice hard beds, a large empty fridge and a rattling fan in Berlin-Mitte not far from the main train station, this is the place to be. Bars and restaurants, Spätis and a supermarket in the immediate vicinity, as well as public transportation. Very nice staff too.

For me without any doubts the best location in Berlin - trendy quarter, close to everything (bars, restaurants, NextBike station, metro, stores) and yet in a very quiet street. Very spacious and comfortable room - especially for this kind of hotel in a city center. We will definitely stay here during our next stay in Berlin.
