Strongly recommend to stay in the city instead of doing your Machu Picchu trip from Cusco directly. It would be much less tiring and the city of Ollantaytambo is very cosy and comfortable. Specially if you are coming from outside Cusco and flying in, my recommendation to fly into Cusco and go straight to Ollantaytambo, stay here and visit Machu Picchu. If going to Machu Picchu or hiking the inca trail, it's better to stay in Ollantaytambo than Cusco. Otherwise you have a 2 hour bus drive to Ollantaytambo anyway to catch the train. Cute old Incan town with amazing ruins.Guest review byAlanahAustralia - 10.0
Just an amazing place.
Just an amazing place. We loved it so much we were afraid Cuzco wouldn’t measure up (but it did). Great place to acclimate for the higher altitude of Cuzco. Absolutely beautiful, memorable town which should not be missed when passing through the Sacred Valley. Picturesque and brimming with history and culture. Archeological ruins are adjacent to the town. You will take many (great) photos!Guest review byAlan

The room was big, clean, very comfortable, and huge bed. Nice owners. Panoramic views from the room. We set off early, so owners have us some quick food (e.g. fruits and yoghurt as we were not able to attend breakfast. Ollantaytambo site 10-15 min walk, train station 20 min walk, so easy to reach these places by foot.
